This 'poem' (?) is certainly not of the caliber of the work I read in this forum but it is heartfelt and represents, for me, helping or guiding
along someone who is not well and trying to find them a place of peace and healing.
Walking down the narrow trail, hand in hand, we trudge on
The path becomes dark and slippery the farther we move along
Easing carefully over the rocky surface, a hawk cries out from above
Shrinking from its wild glare, we’re believing, there is still hope in love
We must make it to the safety of the place just up ahead
Scavengers all around us but with our carcasses they won’t be fed
Our spirits are unbreakable and our footing is strong and sure
Escaping along this path of broken promises and dreaming nevermore
When we get to the infinite garden you’ll be able to bloom once more
With protective walls built all around, no evil can ever pierce that door
We must hurry, pick up the pace as the sun starts setting low
Up the ridgeline, to the peak, moving steadily we must go
Your eyes widen in amazement as the scent of moonflower fills the air
Yes, my darling, we’re close now nothing can hurt you here I swear
The gates open with our arrival and we step hurriedly within
We’ve finally reached the place where you’ll be able to live again
