I liked, in many ways, the character that TRUMP has built up over the years ... over-the-top egoism, bombast, etc.

As a reality TV character, he was amusing, though for me, he had a short shelf-life.

20+ years ago my office manager was a major Howard Stern fan - - I mean this was before he had his 3rd daughter - - that Richard Simmons named. Seriously.

He blasted the Stern show over the sound system. Really had no choice to listen or not.

Trump was a frequent guest.

That's how long I've been "acquainted" with Trump. His ego and bullying tactics are off the charts.

Yeah, but, for me ... I can understand entertainers for what they are. (Trump's not drawing a SAG pension for nothing.)

He's not fit to be President. Pure, simple.

If my only choice is a megalomanic clown and a stiff neocon basically Eisenhower Republican ... I'll have to pick Hillary.

Electorates, not only in the United States, have become so divided that there is a "concede nothing" mentality. In this era, I can not imagine anyone ever having approval ratings that compare to what we've seen from previous Presidents. This is the sentiment that exists with our elected representatives and it has consumed us all as a people as well.

If I make a point against your position, pivot and attack mine. In the end, what have we accomplished? Critical thought never ends. I'm fairly ingrained in my beliefs but so was I 10 years ago and a lot has changed since then.

And we all have blind spots. Given it is a blind spot, we are the last person to identify our own. We only identify them by listening and engaging those that we disagree with from an open and honest perspective.

I could sit here and defend the DNC for lining up one 9/11 survivor after the next and rolling them out on stage. But to what end, for what purpose? Is me conceding that shifting the needle? If it does, let me know because I'll need to edit that post immediately.

I agree. My thought is that we all have our reasons for voting, or for that matter believing in the positions we do. I have no problem with people attacking politicians, but I try to refrain from attacking the supporters. I obviously falter in this, but that is my attempt.

In other words, I hate Hillary, but I think that a personally reasonable person could decide to vote for her. For example, Gryphon hates Trump more, so he will vote for her. I disagree, but that doesn't make me dislike Gryphon. We just disagree.

My wife and I disagree politically all the time (she was a Bernie fan), as do many of my best friends. This is great. It forces me to be able to better defend my positions, and often times makes me change them. If we spend time hating each other just for having different opinions, nothing will ever change.

But ok enough of the love fest. I am feeling bored, so I am going to post something stupid and get in a fight with Gryphon.

As to the other, I'm getting too old to fight.

You may not like the fact that "working with illegals" means amnesty

You tell me not to put words in your mouth, but turn around and 'decipher' meanings from what a presidential candidate says. Putting words in his mouth, that is called hypocrisy.

Condemning Trump for whatever flaws and failures, and turning around to wholeheartedly support a known criminal.

This is probably the only time in history, the American people will have a chance to actually stick it to the status quo. HRC has changed her position on everything, you are condemning Trump for softening his stance on one issue, because probably he is listening and trying to reflect the will of the people.

I didn't "put words in his mouth" ... if you don't enforce the law, which requires the deportation of illegals, it's a form of amnesty.

You believe that Clinton is a criminal. I do not. She's a successful politician. That said, the public has no idea of her real crimes which I'm certain are many (as with any politician), but the propaganda spewed by the right-wing is merely partisan tripe. If she's ever convicted of an actual crime, she'll be a criminal. I realize that's a matter of semantics, but ... she's not a criminal because of the stupidity laid against her for political reasons, but knowing what I know about the world, you don't make omelets without breaking eggs.

There are just as many or more accusations laid against Donald J. Trump for various illegal activities. He himself will tell you as a businessman he's bent the law whenever he needed to. You can rest assured, being who he is, where he is, and doing what he's done, there are just as many "bones in his boneyard" as Hillary Clinton (and probably more.)

I have to say ... I'm thrilled that you still have enough naivete to believe that we are being offered some sort of "choice" here ... that the forces that you refer to obliquely as "the status quo" would ever give us any sort of real choice.

I condemn the Trump character for a myriad of reasons ... this thread only addresses one.

A look at Mexico's immigration policy. Zero tolerance, no pathways to citizenship and no handouts to illegals. Why is common sense considered bigotry when America does it?

America was founded on a principle.

Apparently, Mexico is different.

I was there. I was going to post more info, but people did not seem interested here so I shared elsewhere. Here is a short video showing the thousands of people there:
youtu.be...

The crowd was massive. The media portrayal of Trump rallies is so distorted.

The people attending were DIVERSE. Every ethnicity imaginable was represented in full force. There was no hate. The crowd was filled with love and pride for each other and our nation. And to the people claiming Mexicans are not voting for Trump, NONSENSE. There were tons of Mexicans at the event. Many of them were wearing Hillary For Prison shirts.

There was zero racism, and nothing but acceptance from everyone. It was the friendliest event I have ever been to. It felt like a party, except everyone was the popular kid. I talked to tons of people, and everyone was mega excited to be there.

There were about 20-30 protesters. They seemed to be looking for attention rather than actually protesting anything. I spotted one AntiFa idiot holding some pre-printed sign covering his face with a bandana. DAMN HE WAS EDGY!

It was awesome. It was the perfect example of what America is all about. It was a melting pot of people that have respect and love for this country and it's citizens.

If you want to see what America is all about, ATTEND a Trump rally. The media lies.

Oh, and one more story from the event.

A 40 something black woman was hanging out with my brother and I, as she had come to the event by herself.

When Trump spoke of the black community and jobs, she raised both of her arms in the air and shouted "Thank you Mr. Trump!!"

The whole thing was pretty inspirational for everyone there.

This post is filled with so many holes and contradictions, it would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

You say Hillary isn't a criminal, but she commits horrible crimes.

You say we don't have a choice in the election, so you'll be voting for Hillary.

I'm not naive, you obviously haven't read any of my threads. I have come to accept that, there is really no choice, so if this is all we get, I prefer the one who will shake things up. The GOP and the DNC are both opposed to Trump, so either they are truly afraid of him (which is good), or it's some kind of 'Kansas City shuffle'.

Voting for Hillary is your indication that you have given up.
