Looks like Trump is getting rid of anyone who could hurt his campaign.. Manafort was connected to Russian politics, so it was looking like he maybe was manipulating Trump for the Russians. The legality of some of Manafort's work is in question also.

Those involved in the lobbying gave conflicting accounts to AP over the details. Tony Podesta said his group worked simultaneously with Gates and the Ukrainian nonprofit, and that Manafort was not involved. But Gates told the AP that both he and Manafort were working for Yanukoyvch's Party of Regions. It is illegal for U.S. lobbyists to fail to disclose their work for foreign leaders or parties to the Justice Department. Read more: www.politico.com... Paul Manafort, a senior aide to U.S. GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump, has resigned after being pushed aside, the campaign confirmed on Friday. Earlier this week, Trump brought in Stephen K. Bannon, chairman of the Breitbart News website, as his campaign's chief executive, pushing aside Manafort, who had been headed the campaign. "This morning Paul Manafort offered, and I accepted, his resignation from the campaign. I am very appreciative for his great work in helping to get us where we are today, and in particular his work guiding us through the delegate and convention process. Paul is a true professional and I wish him the greatest success," said Donald Trump in a statement.

Now I wonder if Manafort is going to spill the beans about the true reasons for Trumps run for the POTUS and the disintegration of Donalds campaign?
edit on 19-8-2016 by olaru12 because: (no reason given)

If we're speculating, I'd say he's running to Make America Great Again!

Reform to immigration
Free the Press
Call out Corruption
Renegotiate deals
Build that wall
Bring back jobs
Improve the economy
Put an end to manipulating the minorities for free votes
Raise minimum wage

The 2 things that matter the most to me is the Calling out Corruption, which he does non-stop and preventing a Hillary presidency. If those 2 things could happen, it would make a huge difference in this country. The rest could fall by the side like it would with any other candidate up there making promises they can't keep.

Go Trump...even though I don't like you that much! Sure as hell beats the hell out of a Hillary presidency imo.

He probably signed a non-disclosure agreement. I'm guessing they had a contract so Trump couldn't just fire him, only make him obsolete. It's the "make them unhappy so they leave" method of cleaning house.

I'm guessing we won't have any expose from him anytime soon.

Can we also expect Podesta to resign from Hillary's campaign given his even deeper involvement with the Russians?

All will be released by a third party news organization from "undisclosed sources" politics is nasty that way!

He may not have a choice about what he discloses, there's some very serious implications and I'm guessing a massive rabbit hole that ends in the Kremlin.

Trump brought in Bannon and just kinda pushed Mnafort to the side. I'm guessing all the scandal about Manafort being linked to Russia was the reason for the move.
Trump is getting rid of any hint of scandal, so he can go after Hillary and not look like a hypocrite.

I'm betting not. Those in the upper levels of political campaign sign NDs, so if something does come out, it'll be by a "reliable source".

Mannofort was moving monies for Hillary Clintons Campaign Chairman and his brother.s consulting firm. Podesta. Amazing how that is buried in the story. Trump had nothing to do with it be she did....

According to Trump's son Eric,

After praising Manafort for helping his father's campaign through the tough primaries, Eric Trump ladded, "But again, my father just didn’t want to have the distraction looming over the campaign and quite frankly looming over all the issues that Hillary’s facing right now."

Source: Mana fort Resigns Fox News Link

Speculation on my part, but it seems that Trump has figured out that his campaign wasn't being managed well by Manafort, and then the recent allegations of connections with Ukraine politics made it necessary for Trump to encourage Manafort to resign.

I would rather see this reaction by Trump when he recognizes someone in his campaign is a problem, rather than Hillary's reaction to the Wasserman-Schultz unethical activity at the DNC where Hillary turns around and hires her for her campaign. Source for hiring of Schultz: Schultz immediately joins Clinton Campaign

Good. Looks like he has an integrity issues. Hillary and her whole staff have integrity issues. Hillary has no integrity but she never does anything to her staff because that is her game, draw everyone into schemes so now everyone has an integrity problem not just her.

I know! I want another Game Change!
Sadly, AboveBoard would be correct. You and I will have to wait.

Manafort became toxic to the campaign. It's better for both campaign and Manafort to part ways and let the talk die down. I wonder if Manafort feels as if he failed with Trump? Well, at least he can now go find another dictator to help.

This is a good move. Manafort was a good campaign manager for any other "civilized" campaign. This campaign has been totally taken over by loud mouth liberals who try to out shout the opposition. The liberal zombies for Hillary, will use any and all means at their disposal, necessarily including rude and lewd lies and actions against those who have some sense of decency left. Basically, the conservatives don't know how to fight a crap throwing contest. Honey Badger does know how and he will be the one catching the crap and throwing it back. You thought it was dirty now? Wait until the Honey Badger gets to work. Best put on your safety glasses cause stuff is gonna be flying through the air.

It should be fun to watch the liberals duck for a change.

Call out Corruption

In that case, who's he going to arrest first?...himself or Hilary.

Trump’s entire business career reeks, beginning with his early associations with organized crime and proceeding through a career of swindling. “No other candidate for the White House this year has anything close to Trump’s record of repeated social and business dealings with mobsters, swindlers, and other crooks,” reports David Cay Johnston. Trump is not merely comfortable doing business with criminals and thugs — his habits of manipulating bankruptcy laws and swindling his partners have left him reliant upon, let us say, unconventional sources of investment, many of whom are the scum of the Earth.
That's the nice bits.
He would find it near impossible to isolate his web of business dealings against American politics, with his associations in Russia, and other Eastern bloc so-called democracies who are themselves corrupt and nepotistic, and all back scratchy. This man cannot be a US president there are so many conflicts of interest. I just don't get why people cannot see that. And, OMG! should he get past the post, he might have to keep backhanding Hilary to shut her up about his dealings.
