WASHINGTON (AP) —
Donald Trump's campaign chairman helped a pro-Russian governing party in Ukraine secretly route at least $2.2 million in payments to two prominent Washington lobbying firms in 2012, and did so in a way that effectively obscured the foreign political party's efforts to influence U.S. policy.

The revelation, provided to The Associated Press by people directly knowledgeable about the effort, comes at a time when Trump has faced criticism for his friendly overtures to Russian President Vladimir Putin. It also casts new light on the business practices of campaign chairman Paul Manafort.

Under federal law, U.S. lobbyists must declare publicly if they represent foreign leaders or their political parties and provide detailed reports about their actions to the Justice Department. A violation is a felony and can result in up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.

A House Republican task force has found that officials from the U.S. military’s Central Command pressured lower-level military analysts to downplay the threats of ISIS and radical Islamists.

The Daily Beast reported that the committee's 10-page report confirms allegations by dozens of intelligence analysts that their reports were altered by CENTCOM higher-ups.

Last year, more than 50 analysts filed a formal complaint, alleging that their reports on ISIS and Al Qaeda’s branch in Syria - Al-Nusra Front - were being inappropriately altered by senior officials to paint a more optimistic picture.

There`s nothing disturbing about international business deals it doesnt make a person or a corporation a traitor for having international business dealings, if it did McDonalds would be in deep trouble.

trump is a business man of course he is having business deals with other countries including russia. Hillary isn`t a business woman and never was but as secretary of state she was making business deals with other countries including russia.

Except he was actually appointed by Pres. Obama...And then everyone he worked with, for and those who reported to him said he was impossible to work with and tended to make stuff up...(Flynns Facts is what they called them)...and he was twice reprimanded for inappropriately sharing secret intelligence with foreign governments. Nice of you to fictionalize a more favorable exit story for him though.

Because the Clinton's have much bigger, much more nefarious ties to Russia.

I just have to say... Wow, SZ, impressive foresight back in Aug 2016.

And now I'm sure you've heard... there's a full blown FBI investigation into collusion between Russia and Trump's Campaign and also investigation into possible obstruction of justice by Trump... AND to touch on your funny double agent/spy thing... it ACTUALLY came out that Trump's son in law, Jared Kushner, was trying to setup a secret communications channel with the Kremlin to evade U.S. Intelligence monitoring. Oh-- and Mike Flynn! Total secret foreign agent had to step down for lying. And the investigations continue...
