And that's how I often feel arguing on ATS
Tonne of bricks & tonne of feathers

The problem is the question, it doesn't state if the bricks/feathers are loose or are in a container, obviously if loose the bricks will land first because the feathers despite having the same combined weight are individually lighter than the individual bricks, if they're both in containers and the containers are equal then they will both land at the same time.

Not saying the girl isn't as dense as a brick though but you've got to cut her some slack on that one as the question isn't entirely fair but you're correct it is like arguing on ATS as usually there's a lot of facts and information missing from posters

Good point.
It reminds me of this, that happened last week.
I had my daughter (she will be 13 y/o next week) ask me about the pound of gold vs a pound of feathers recently, after she saw the question posted on social media. After I explained that gold is traditionally weighed by troy measure instead of avoirdupois, which would be used to measure feathers, she posted a response to the question that showed that a pound of gold weighs less (at 373 grams) than a pound of feathers (453 grams). After that, people understood that it was a trick question.

And I've learned something new too now as I didn't know about troy or avoirdupois
