Super Pacs, the way everybody breaks the spirit of the law and it is totally legal. Super Pacs are suppose to have no ties or contact with a
Candidate, because in theory they operate independently and are issue based. Of course the fact they are all run by friends or allies of Candidate
and you can bet their is some sort of off the record coordination going on.
What is a Super Pac?
A 501(c)(4) is an advocacy group set up to run “issues ads,” without direct coordination with the candidates’ campaigns. In exchange for that
restriction, the groups are allowed to take in unlimited donations, from donors whose identities don’t have to be disclosed.
And what are they up to?
GOP Super Pacs (I have separated these from Trump Super Pacs because they do no pro Trump ads, the GOP donor either refuse to support Trump or those
that see the general election as lost and want to try and save the down ballot)
A new Super Pac created solely to support vulnerable GOP Senators vulnerable in the election has
`Dark money' group for vulnerable GOP senators begins $1M ad campaign for Blunt
announced Tuesday a $1 million, 10-day television ad campaign in support of U.S. Sen. Roy Blunt, R-Mo.
Their are now 9 Super Pacs that are ignoring the general election and putting money "down ballot" This is the GOP firewall to try and same the rest
of the GOP if things go the way they appear to be election wise. This is the first step, the second would be if Trumps numbers to recover soon the
GOP itself will pull out from Trump and go all in down ballot as they did with Dole when his numbers were bad.
Trump Super Pacs - Are running anti Clinton ads in key battle ground states. One however has run into a problem
Pro-Trump Super PAC Hire Tests Federal Election
Rules
The Trump campaign announced in April it had hired Ken McKay as a senior adviser, saying he would "support our delegate operations team and bolster
our ground game efforts." McKay left the Trump campaign in early June to join Rebuilding America Now.
Rebuilding America Now is a Super Pac. Sending your allies to run Supers Pacs is not allowed but, everybody does it and nobody seems to care. The
problem for this guy is, their is suppose to be 120 day cooling down period between leaving a campaign and joining a Super Pac to at least give the
illusion that the Pacs are not doing the bidding of the Campaigns. Trumps people say he was not payed and legal experts say that might not matter so
long as he was advising the campaign. Who knows what the FEC will say and the public will not care because Trump supporters support anything he does
and Clinton supporter know she does the same thing so will not bring it up.
Now in October the pro Trump Super Pac called Make America Great Again shut itself down when it became know that one of the Pacs operatives was
working for a firm being paid by the Trump campaign and used an e-mail address to solicit funds given to him by Trumps personal assistant. And yes
all that is illegal but, it was barely a story and nobody on Clinton side pushed it because she no doubt does not want anybody looking to close into
her tie with Super Pacs.
And people wonder why Trump and Clinton poll as being untrustworthy.
Clinton/DNC Super Pacs - Clinton's Super PACs are shutting down ads in some states for now
Clinton Super-PAC Going Dark in
Colorado and Pennsylvania
The pro-Hillary Clinton super-PAC Priorities USA is suspending TV advertising in Virginia, Colorado, and Pennsylvania until at least the end of
September, according to a person familiar with the group’s plans.
In addition, while Priorities had already suspended ads in Virginia, commercials that were originally set to resume in the state on Sept. 6 will now
be pushed back until at least Sept. 20 as well.
Seeing those states firmly in hand they plan on both saving money for later in the campaign to have extra if need and
"Right now, we are going to look at other opportunities for us to expand the map and potentially reach out to some new voters as well through voter
registration and on-the-ground efforts in some of our key states,"
And in what I am sure is a complete "coincidence" (since Campaigns and Super Pacs do not coordinate efforts)
The Clinton campaign itself, which is building strong polling leads in those three states and other battlegrounds, has also decided to hit pause on an
ad buy in Virginia and pull ads from Colorado.
And so it goes the "independent" Super Pacs who despite being filled with friends and allies of the candidates can take as much money as they want and
from anybody and never have to report who is paying. All because they are not for a candidate and do not coordinate with the campaigns. And if you
believe that I have some great swamp land to sell you.
And in a last bit of news Trump says he is thinking about setting up Super Pacs to defeat Cruz and Kasich.
Trump: ‘I’ll Probably Do a Super PAC’
Against Cruz and Kasich
This being Trump of course, who knows if he just talking or being serious.
Trump is also getting a new Super PAC created by the guy he semi supported against Paul Ryan.
Ryan challenger Nehlen starts
pro-Trump super PAC
And all this crap is legal.
