Besides, if ETs were to travel here, they would have to have a very intelligent brain in order to understand the physics that would be required to know in order to travel faster than light to get here. An integral part of intelligence is self-awareness.

We take our worst features and worst characteristics and throw it onto another species whom we haven't even met yet. Independence Day is the perfect example of that.
