To accept the ghost hypothesis, you have to also start accepting other potential supernatural possibilities such as perhaps the reason a audio recording can pick up on a ghost voice where a human ear generally cant could be a purposeful blocking out of hearing on that specific frequency simply so we dont walk around all day every day hearing the voices of the dead distract us. selective deafness.

But that suggestion is a physical, NOT a supernatural, possibility. It assumes that spirit voices generate sound vibrations in the air outside the range of human audibility. That does not make sense if spirits/ghosts are non-physical, for how could they ever create physical sound waves in the first place? Rather, the (non-physical) energy involved in their form of communication must be transduced into an electromagnetic signal that is then detected by the electronic gismo. The same happens with humans who sometimes hear spirits talking to them. Their ears do not pick up sound waves in the normal way because there are no sound waves to detect. Instead, an electromagnetic signal resulting from transduction of the original non-physical signal is picked up by the thousands of tiny hairs or cells in the cochlea of the ear that transmit electrical signals to the auditory centre of the human brain. The same sort of transduction occurs with the eye. A non-physical signal emitted by the non-physical body of the spirit has to be transduced by the non-physical counterpart of the brain (yes, there IS one) into a light wave, which is then received by the rods and cones in the retina and converted (another transduction) into electrical signals that get processed by the brain.
