King of Nothing

Firstly, I want to express my gratitude for ATS and it's members for this forum. The short stories and poetry have kept me company for many nights for many years.
Secondly, I want to express my gratitude for allowing me to purge.

I still can’t fathom that you lied
And just walked away as if I’d died

You took a life to hide your sin
You’re full of hate and soulless within

I could have saved the life you destroyed
Instead you chose to cast her in the void

Of nothingness, her eternity alone
Now you’ve come back to sit on your throne

Your smugness an example of what not to be
I’ll never forget your empty eyes like a black sea

I did not do this, you did this to me
Your guilt is the birthplace for your hostility

You've forgiven yourself and, I see, you've let it go
She’s in the abyss and, sadly, her love you’ll never know

The day will come that you both will meet
And beside her, for eternity, you’ll take your seat

Until that day you will live in grief
And the ones that loved you, will anguish, in disbelief

Of the monster that you’ve, somehow, become
And the love once felt that is forever gone

King of nothing take your scepter and crown
And know the Gods saw it all while looking down

It's Cathartic Saturday!

A King who rules with love is a king loved, but Love will never put food on the table..
Every Crown and scepter is made by human flesh and forged in blood..
Maybe the Kingdom is greater than what you see, and that place you call nothingness is all the King ever wanted..
