Quite interested in the Alcubierre drive concept myself, but its my understanding that it requires negative matter(a meta material we have yet no idea
how to produce) to function effectively.
Or if it can be done without said material it would require and almost infinite amount of energy to produce and sustain a warp effect on normal
space/time.
Then there is the problem of dissipating all that accumulated energy without destroying the system you arrive in.
We just don't have the construction techniques or capability's never mind a complete understanding of the science required to be building interstellar
ship or probes that warp space/time yet.
