When it comes to non-action movies my favorites would be Big.

Regarding Henry comes in as second.

Action/fantasy movies, Willow, LOTR as well as Braveheart. Still there is something about Willow that you don't see in movies anymore.

Every movie has a different message, so it's hard to just pick one. One thing is for certain, you don't see very many good movies anymore.

Humm, I wonder. These are not a movie, but rather a series that I really recommend and came up recently in Netflix.

Really recommend that series.

Did you saw willow as a lill kid? Probably the reason willow got something that you don't see anymore in movies it's because it was a flop and people learn from their mistakes, but as a kid it brand your mind, I love that movie too, but again I really liked waterworld and the postman when I was 10, the movies you see as a kid will be always better than what they are, like the never ending story or that Eddie Murphy movie there is a chosen kid.

Here is a list of Movies I saw before i was 10 that are the best movie ever in the world:

Cobra
Tango and cash
Conan the barbarian and the destroyer
Robocop I and II
Commando
Predator I and II
Syborg
The never ending story
Total recall
Star wars
Indiana jones I-III
The shadow
The phantom
Escape from NY
Big trouble in little china
The thing
Little shop of horror (or something)
Freddy movies (nightmare something street)
Leprechaun I to the one in space
Space jam
Who framed roger rabbit
Where eagles dare
Captain America (the one from the nineties)
Steven segal and van dame movies

As I write this list it comes to my attention 2 things, everything was awesome when I was a kid, my mon and dad where awesome they took me to the movies as a 6 y/o to see predator 2 and robocop 2
, I'm a crappy parent and just take my kid to se frozen and other age apropiete crap (what a lousy parent)

Also I remember that my parents allowed me to see all the gore in predator 2 but when some tities appeared they covered my eyes

The Golden Child.

Eddie Murphi has always been an awesome actor.

Great movie, as well as NES. But even to this day Willow is a movie I watch once in a while, same for Star Wars. There are some movies that were done so well, imo, for their time that they will continue to be liked by a lot of people.

I don't trust movie critics. There are many movies that were branded as bad, and I liked. Waterworld, like you said, is one of them. They were filming a second Waterworld movie, but it was stopped.

That's a really good list. There are just a couple movies in your list I don't like, but most I agree with you.

However, "Stranger Things" is a series that a lot of ATS members would like. It is one of those series that keeps you guessing.

Really few people care about what critics says, the transformer movies always are panned by critics but make 800+ millions every time, willow and waterworld just covered the budged and probably lost money with the promotion.

No man, most of them are horrible movies with the hero just being a killing machine full of one liners, they are so good because I saw them as a kid, some of them are good, I wonder if I had been a kid when I saw machete or sharknado they would be on my list of best movies ever...

Movies are not supposed to be taken literally. They are there to take us away from all the bs that occurs in life. Some movies do have a good message, while others are just there for entertainment but in the end they are just to entertain.

Without a doubt it's Sergio Leone's tale of greed, cruelty and mercy, The Good The Bad and The Ugly.

Here is my favourite scene ever filmed. The pathos of Wallach's white lie and Clint mercifully playing along is all the more touching as it comes in an unforgiving landscape of violence and death.

Tuco's grin at the end nails it for me. Despite all the sadness he turns that frown upside down and that's frakking resilient. Quilt feeling sorry for yourself and keep on fighting.

I don't i have to qualify this next choice around here:

And finally, because from script, to performance to direction it is an absolutely perfect film. But most of all because of Ben Kingsley's unbelievably intense, bloody terrifying villain Don Logan. Here's a compilation of his scenes i found on youtube:

I think Mullholland Drive...and also the movie it pays homage to is really great, Sunset Boulevard

But the true answer is Cool Runnings...seriously, my all-time favorite.

Definitely agree with you on Stalker... incredible film.

At the moment, I'd have to say INLAND EMPIRE. But anything Lynch tends to suit me fine & dandy.

My favorite movie of all time is

Somewhere in Time

Wow, I actually saw this as a child, maybe 20 - 25 years ago. It was a midday movie & I started watching it... for some reason I was totally entranced. Something about the atmosphere of it really got to me. I was usually into Westerns or Horrors at that age (I had a very 'progressive' father in that respect), so it stands out. I haven't seen it since, but now I know the name of it again I'll have to hire it out...
