Radiation levels in seabed off Fukushima ‘100s of times’ higher than prior to disaster

The amount of radioactive substances in seabed off Fukushima is hundreds of times higher than before the disaster, a report issued by Greenpeace reveals. The figures mean that there is absolutely “no return to normal after nuclear catastrophe” in the area.

On Thursday, the environmental group released a report addressing the results of the study during which scientists analyzed radioactivity levels along Fukushima’s rivers and in the Pacific seabed off the coast.

“The hundreds of thousands of tonnes of highly-contaminated water, the apparent failure of the ice wall to reduce groundwater contamination, and the unprecedented challenge of three molten reactor cores all add up to a nuclear crisis that is far from over,” said Ulrich.

Those who took a sigh of relief after reading the story below may want to reexamine whether they want to eat fish from the Pacific Ocean.

Bioaccumulation of radiation is happening in the Pacific Ocean regardless what the overall levels of radiation are. Since it's often impossible to know with certainty where the fish you may eat is coming from, I believe fish can no longer be consumed at all.

Bioaccumulation of radiation in an ocean is a very simple process. In the Pacific Ocean, fish are contaminated in the coastal waters off Fukushima, and they swim to other places in the Pacific Ocean. When they're eaten, bioaccumulation spreads throughout the food chain.

Had to think that everything on earth is a cycle.
So the radioactive water evaporates, becomes somewhere else clouds and rains down.
"Life" on earth will not be funny for the following generations, i am glad that i don´t have kids that have to experience this at first hand, because it won´t become better in the future.
The earth may survive, she survived a lot in her life, but the life as we know it will dramatically change.
Maybe the next rulers on earth will be insects, or rats...

Fuku was the real deal. People voted for change in America and they got change from TEPCO.

The thing they're being careful about right now are photographs of mutation. Seeing is believing ... so it's being suppressed. If you want to keep up with it, you've got to search the Web for yourself.



Some examples ... nobody even attribute to Fuku anymore ... because it's a national embarrassment ... and a taboo subject.

There are very large examples ... and yet responsibility won't be accepted as they're still to busy dodging blame.



But ... it's the change you don't see that's gonna wind up killing us. Changes that occur at the microscopic level. The level where mutation has enormous consequence. New viruses. The oceans are FILLED with them. A plethora you cannot even begin to imagine. And if a sunflower can be changed ...

I just have to ask.........if this is all true, how come it is that there's not a word one about it in the MSM? I mean, total crickets. There's NO coverage of Fuku in any of the MSM, including the all powerful New York Times.

Who's to believe anything about this if its not making the radar in the MSM, ANYWHERE?

Not good and those pictures are horrifying. Im glad i live on the gulf coast. I still eat seafood on the daily. Eat a little BP oil? Maybe. Gotta worry about Fuku radiation? No.

Im all about living a life with pleasures instead of to 100 with no fun.

As to why the MSM does not cover these things? Isnt it obvious? Mass hysteria would ensue on the West Coast at least probably. You cannot deny those pictures.

I guess nobody is talking about because nothing can be done and it puts front the issue of what could happen if other meltdowns happened across the world...people would (I hope) clamoring to close down all of these plants that are located off either big lakes or oceans...

As an aside folks should check out a coast to coast episode from Sunday July 17, 2016..guest was David G. Yurth who has some patents to address radion and a plasma filter for your car's tailpipe rendering the exhaust to oxygen. His technique for reducing radioactive waist to some inert byproduct has been verified and tested by the EPA but prior to having a meeting with an adviser from the white house he was threatened to back off. Apparently he has been working on this patent since the early 90's and it's quite possibly one of the better shows that coast to coast has had in a long time..

Around the area of fukushima doesn't mean the entire pacific ocean. the pacific is a big place, even if fukushima was exploding dirty bombs daily into the coast, it wouldn't effect the whole ocean to toxic levels like you suggest.

Although I would (and think there is a ban anyhow) avoid anything coming from within the red zone. thats just sensible.

Radiation enters the water through sunlight. everyday we are exposed to tons of radiation. our computer monitors, the sun, lights, etc etc..and we can deal with certain levels just fine. its when it becomes over (google) parts per million when it becomes a issue. Just saying dont start abandoning all hope yet, and raw fish from say, 60m north or south of the plant should be perfectly fine.


Note most is contained in the small circle on land. the ocean, being the ocean, will dispurse things far more effectively than on land to non threatening levels. now yeah, if you are testing the seabed in the red zone, its gonna be crazy, but go 20 miles away and retest. it doesn't say in the articles (that I seen) where they were testing...so I am gonna write this off as..something to be aware of, but ultimately just typical doom porn by RT as usual

If that's true, that a possible technical solution to Radiation polution was turned down by the White House then TPTB must actually WANT the world to die. . . . I can't understand why that would be true. The 1% mother$&%#&$ have to live here too, or do they? Is there ACTUALLY a secret space program? Do these "people" (monsters) have some where else to live? Wild speculation of course, but seriously, why would "they" want the human race and all other life on earth to die?

Why? would you rather have coal plants with toxic smog gasses clouding the cities like the industrial revolution days?

I think whats needed is a lot more redundancy and safety measures, along with cleanup plans, but nuke power is, when all things considered, a lot better than any alternative for now. Lets see what happens if/when we ever achieve cold fusion or super solar cells.

There's no doubt the seafloor around the Fukushima disaster site is still highly contaminated.

GE is the parent company for both some major media and for a division that builds nuclear plants (including the crappy design of the Fukushima reactors), so they don't want to report more negatives about the disaster and hurt their own business. It's not a good for the public to have media sources controlled by a conglomerate like that.

As for other media outlets, they've been reporting contaminated water leaks for the last 5 years so that's no secret. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure some of that contamination from the leaking contaminated water is going to settle to the bottom and cause elevated radiation on the ocean floor around the disaster site.

Pictures of random mutations are anecdotal. I don't see any correlation between conjoined twins aka "siamese twins" born all over the world at different times, with any radiation patterns, so mutations can happen randomly, on land or in the sea. That's not to say I'm claiming that there are no negative effects from the radiation. I'm saying I don't know, maybe some of those mutations have nothing to do with the Fukushima disaster for all I know.
