IMO this was a war on Jews, not France.

many European Jews who come to Nice because it has a permanent Jewish population of 25,000 with kosher shops and synagogues, in addition to the Chabad House.

Well that's the 64 million dollar question, eh?

Obviously these people have to be dealt with and brought to justice, prevented from carrying out future attacks of a similar nature.

Possibly be an idea through not to create any future generation of radicalized terrorist by way of our involvement in all the proxy wars our respective nations are up to there neck in all the same.

End of the day its only a small minority of misguided xenophobic fools that are responsible for such attacks, they need to be weeded out and destroyed, how to do that through considering they hide in plain sight is the problem.

CNN now reporting that he was not affiliated with ANY mosque in Nice. For what's it worth.

Also reporters in Nice saying after the Paris attacks, the people's mood was "shocked and saddened". Now the mood is anger. They want this stopped, and are upset with the French government.

They also reported among the dead are two Americans, a father, and his eleven year old son.

Could be. I think sometimes these undercover operations go south. I think Orlando was another one that went south. Normally, they'd stop these guys and arrest them before they do harm. That way, they can hold the guy up, point at him and tell everyone how awesome they are to have stopped a terrorist. It helps justify their operating budgets.

Sometimes though -- I have the gut feeling that things don't go according to plan, and the guy they've setup and pushed into taking action gets out of their control and goes off script -- actually carrying out some kind of attack.

Wissam, a Tunisian neighbour from the same village as the driver claimed: 'On the Thursday night he was drinking with a colleague and they argued. His pal said you're worth nothing and he replied: 'One day, you'll hear about me.'

Sounds like he had other motivations.

I've read nearly every page of this thread. And I'm going to have to stop now, because it's really getting me down.

Nearly one hundred people mowed down in an act of terror (because it certainly HAS caused a reaction of terror and horror throughout the world). Many more brutally injured, some surely will either die of their injuries or live life forever changed by them. A city in mourning.

And here, in a microcosm of society, all I see is nit-picky pettiness...."you said," "no I didn't - YOU said"..."no, YOU did"...ad nauseum.

If we cannot even try to find common ground on an internet forum, no wonder the world is going to hell in a handbasket......on an express elevator.

Thank you to those posting information. I appreciate the emotion and I understand the temptation to become passionate. I want justice for those poor people slaughtered while enjoying a night out. I ache for their families and I ache for those first responders who had to deal with the carnage. I want to wield the sword of vengeance...but I am in no position to do so. The only option available to me is prayer...and that I have been doing, and will continue to do so. I will pray for Nice and the world.

My thoughts have been with them since I knew about them. All those innocents. I am not religious and to pray seems like the ultimate in bad taste. But I understand your heartfelt statement,. May they find peace.

I was not referring to that argument. By his saying that phrase, it would appear that his motivations were selfish in nature and not necessarily at fulfilling an act in the name of religion or ISIS.

This is a big problem. If you believe that there is no relation between what happened here and Islam you are the problem. You are the reason why instead of looking for answers people will look for responses.
