Unlike you though I don't discount everything I see if it doesn't fit my world view or preconceived notions.

Your rude snipes aren't necessary to talk to me like an adult. I'm not so sure continuing this conversation is a good thing since you are being an asshole. You continue believing in your ridiculous hail mary based on speculation, and I'll continue to trust the odds. Goodbye.

Just for recap. Again, if you had a more open mind, we agree on 98% of most things here on ATS and we could be great friends having coffee, walking our dogs and discussing, international policy very amicably. But...

Telling you that you have a closed mind on a few issues isn't a rude snipe. Telling me my thoughts have zero chance of becoming reality isn't a rude snipe either. it's close mindedness and stops meaningful discussion.

Speculation is half the fun of ATS we all do it on almost every thread here. But closing down another's argument with "...it's a hail mary.." instead of discussing the issue doesn't help. I am definitily an *%^hole, but we still shouldn't be calling each other that here on ATS.

It almost seems like you'd do anything to help Hillary take the white house, ignoring the fact that we haven't even had the convention yet and that we have at least two other solid candidates to discuss, including Jill Stein.

Still not sure why you're so angry about this?

I'm not though. Cheers!

Lots of crocodile tears on behalf of Conservatives. As if they were going to vote for Bernie if he had stayed in...lol

Just stop talking. You clearly don't know anything about me, how my mind thinks, and its open status. Just stop. I hate when people pretend to know me online. It's one of my biggest pet peeves, and you are so far from the mark it isn't even funny.

By the way, I'm angry that you are sitting there telling me you agree with most of what I say then have the #ing gall to call me closed minded. No I just happen to have come to a different conclusion about certain topics than you. What's even worse is that instead of recognizing this simple and obvious possibility you insult my ability to think critically.

Party unity is how you get things accomplished in this country

Not exactly true. Money gets things done in this country.

Its a fairytale that the DNC and the GOP party or politicians side with ideals over money. Its also right next door to La La land, where billion dollar industry take 50/50 chances with their billions during elections when they don't have to.

Study
When a majority of citizens disagrees with economic elites and/or with organized interests, they generally lose. Moreover, because of the strong status quo bias built into the US political system, even when fairly large majorities of Americans favour policy change, they generally do not get it.

That doesn't mean that party unity doesn't work. It just means that it doesn't always favor the public's wants.

Now here's the issue. You are not recognizing that there is a possibility that I'm correct and insulting my ability to think Critically.

I'm in no way pretending to know you but base all of my interactions here with you on your posts and our interactions here on ATS. That's it. That's a logical thing to do. If you don't want to have logical conversations you shouldn't post or have discussions on an internet forum that IS designed for people to have logical online conversations. Did you miss that?

No I said that the odds of what you said would happen are minuscule. This means that while the odds are extremely low there IS a possibility of it happening. That's why I posted that Youtube video. These are all hard facts, sure you can speculate all day about this happening but only a fool wouldn't acknowledge that the odds of Bernie not endorsing Hillary at the convention just because some delegates said they'll still vote for him are extremely low.

It would be AWESOME if he ended up doing that, but I live in reality and am a realist. Realistically there is no need to even consider this as something that will happen. Doing so just ends up getting your hopes up only to be dashed when things don't work out.

Yeah, while you are SOOOO busy trying to "know" me, you aren't even attempting to fully understand the very argument we are yelling at each other about.

Yes. I fear a Trump Presidency. I don't want the country dragged back down into the grips of racism like the Woodrow Wilson Presidency..

Are you kidding me? Look at what we have now! We have a black hate group that threatens white people and cops, with the full support of the media and Democrat government!

What has Trump said or done that leads you to believe he would bring back to "the grips of racism". I've never read anything so ridiculous!

Here's a great article about the racial climate that Trump is fueling (even if it is indirectly). Though I'm sure you won't read it.

Oh look an anti-white article from a left wing source that makes completely unsubstantiated leaps of logic and purports to be psychic. If Trump is so racist, simply post examples. You can't and won't do that.

All you can do is post lies and propaganda from sources DEDICATED to opposing any Republican or politician who opposes the Democrat nominee.

not that is doesn't always favor, but seldomly if ever does it favor what the public wants.

Yeah, while you are SOOOO busy trying to "know" me, you aren't even attempting to fully understand the very argument we are yelling at each other about.

But here's the crux of our argument here. You just said that the chance of what I said happening are so small as to be impossible, yet you gave yourself an out by saying it was statistically possible. You then said I should not even consider it.

In no way insulting you here, but you are presenting yourself as an expert on this matter, at least more of an expert than I, and seemingly denigrating my position. In my haste, I called you close minded, but...how should I respond?

I would also state that I doubt that you read more about this primary season than I have or that you know more about Sanders and his supporters than I do. What makes you think you are more of an expert than I?

In life, people will have different opinions and outlooks than you. That doesn't make them wrong. That was one of the hardest lessons of life and I hope you learn it at a younger age than I did. In fact those different opinions are what makes us stronger as a group...any group. Otherwise meaningful discussion cannot be had.

Back on Topic. I still believe that there is an endgame here that sees full Sanders support for Jill Stein or and independent run. I think Sanders sees as I do, that there really is no difference between Clinton and Trump. In fact, the only difference I really see between those two is the stance on Climate Change, but I'm still not so sure that Clinton isn't using rhetoric to appease the far left in the Democratic base.

We'll have to wait and see. Should be a good Convention.

Bernie... just Ron Paul 2.0. People recognize that doing the same thing over and over (Rep/Dem) gets us nowhere but somehow think choosing someone associated with either party is going to work. They're owned. Rep/Dem is just an extension of the 'corporatocracy'. Until people grow the stones to vote against BOTH parties the screws will continue to tighten.

You do know that the odds of something like that happening are near 0 right?

He's not going to endorse Jill Stein or run as an Independent, or be the president, but he might have some fireworks left in his pocket from the 4th...
He's a tenacious sort. He could still make noise about his stuff that DIDN'T get into the platform (TPP) OR he could push to the super delegate issue. But since he's endorsed her, nothing is likely to come from it. The ball is in Hillary's court. If she was smart (which I think she is), she'd work a little harder to get even more of his agenda onto the Democratic Platform and win over more and more of his supporters.

Yeah, it's a Hail Mary, but it's not going to change his standing in the election.

I did read the article. They can't use Trump own words, they have to assign meaning and intention to his words that aren't there. You can't just quote him because he hasn't said anything racist. The only thing racist here is the spin from the media.
