I live in Canada. It's got major problems. Like MAJOR. It's just as bad as the US is right now, even worse. We're socialist, but in otherwords a nice way of saying communist. Like it's totally mad. But at least I know what it was like to live in stallinistic soviet russia. So one option that's fast approaching is that I could likely get an EU citizenship. I've looked into it in great detail and all the signs show that I'd be accepted into my country of ancestry.

With a citizenship to my native country you could live and work anywhere in the EU. The only thing that kinda worries me is that the EU has 20 times the population in the same space as Canada. So it would be very crowded. But still and all there's a lot of upside I see. Plus maybe a slightly lower amount of tyranny to boot.

But I really don't know. Plus I only speak english. So I'm not sure if I should try it or not. Someone was saying to me that the grass aint greener on the other side and all that, but I tend to feel like checking for myself. Plus I want to find a place to retire in peace and I can't see that happening here. I really can't, we just have too many problems and oppression.

I know you guys know a lot so what do you think??? Should I go try it or not??? Why???

The EU is absorbing the entirety of North Africa and the Middle East.
You'll have no problem getting in.

Speaking only English is fine if you plan on living in a tourist destination, other than that you will struggle and feel a little iscolated. Socialism or communism if you must is the rule in Europe. So I'm not sure you'd be escaping anything. Anyway what is so wrong with the poor being guaranteed healthcare, shelter and food if they cannot afford it themselves?

In terms of population density, yes. Europe has more people per square mile, however the majority of people live in cities and towns just like Canada. So it really depends on where you plan on living, be it Canada or the EU.

You have no idea how stupid, ignorant, and utterly flawed your OP is, do you?

Socialism is not communism. They are separate concepts. Also, you have no idea what living under Stalin was like, otherwise you would not say such an utterly absurd thing.

First of all, living under Stalin is a situation which can only be compared to living under Hitler. Factually speaking, Stalin killed more people, but that's by the by. Your government does not operate gulags for those who protest against it, your government does not control production of goods or services, does not control who gets paid what, does not operate groups of unidentified, unaccountable thugs to break into people's homes, harass, rape and kill ones family, and drag people off to the middle of no where to be worked to death in forced labour camps, does not, in fact, have any resemblance to the soviet example you made reference to.

I do not know what you are smoking, but, and this is a departure for me, I certainly don't want any, if you think that Canada and Soviet Russia share anything other than ice hockey, a rough temperature correlation and a hemisphere.

if you are in a positon to move back to canada then check if the grass is greener. Yes it will seem over crowded compare to canda but if you like the city life then try it.

UK is good if you can get here at all.

other than that just follow your insticts

Every word TrueBrit typed was true and not unnecessarily harsh at any point. As per usual.

Yeah, but this is also the guy who wants to live in a tent, or a dugout, or a bunker in the ground, or in the back of a van. Forever changing his mind, a new idea every day.

I don't think he'll ever make it to EU.

I hope he pops back and fills us in, the only thing I can think of is ladies of the night (or men) apparantly everything but the selling is illegal now. Still, I can imagine Toronto is still mental in that aspect.

no you have no idea. Really you don't. I could create a laundry list of the things that have happened here. It's nuts. I'm essencially living off grid right now for fear of tptb here. They're 110% nuts. How is that anyway to live? And I'm not making this up. But I just don't want to list all the events as I'm trying to put it behind me.

your so wrong on all of these. Where do you get your intel? You've obviously never lived here, or you believe the propaganda about it being the land of milk n honey. I don't know what you're smoking, we have all of this and more. It's just that it's not advertised. You actually think we don't have gulags?? Where do you get your info? Well I'm a survivor of those gulags. They exist plain and simple. So please stop talking out your azz.

Yes, then you can bombard them with your philosophical gems but just tailored for a new audience.

'Should I live in a vineyard or a former World War II bunker?'

'How old is the Coliseum? Most people say 2,000 years, I say 11 minutes.'

'Should I now move to Africa since I have worn out my EU welcome?'

I think you will love it, them, not so much.

Ya well if I could buy a house I probably would. But again it' all comes back to the tyranny I'm talking about. I can't legally buy a house even if I tried. So my options are very limited here. The only saving grace to canada is you might have the option to live like a hermit off grid somewhere because there's a lot of land. But that probably would get boring after a while. I'm not changing my mind either. I'm weighing my optioins. It's live here in a f**king tent off grid and die of cold, or possibly move to the EU and take my chances there. At least there I wouldn't be living under oppression like here.
