Anyone know anything about las Vegas?

I know this is asking a question before I have to leave, so rude of me, but I guess I'll have to return to this at a later time (so rude!) but before I go, does anyone know anything about las Vegas? Like, not to live or anything like that, but I know I've always been drawn to the idea of things going on like magic shows, and some part of me is curious, don't ask what part. I think it's just the idea of nighttime, fire blowers, activity, Idk. Not to live or get involved in some seedy underbelly, but not to be wowed like a family of 8 kids or what not...but I guess to hang for a few weeks maybe come back if all's cool. Like, how's the community out there? Is it cheesy as h@$/?? Lol. Any odd facts? I know the Hoover dam is pretty weird. That's out there, rite?? N-E thing else

What happens there stays there. Also, it's easy to go broke there. Careful with the casinos.

Property taxes cheap.

No state income tax.

And it's easy to stay away from the gambling.

But there are thousands of slot machines in the local bars and many stores.

And it's easy to take a vacation when you only live a few miles from the resorts.

I know a lot about Vegas. Skid is right. What happens in Vegas stays there for a good reason. I would tell you about the many things I had to leave in Vegas but it would break the golden rule.

My cousin lives there and well he has not left Vegas too.

I can tell you one thing. Make sure if you meet a girl there she is well a girl! Lol

Nah, if you have family going with.. I would suggest Laughlin, or Reno. I say reno because I grew up there. If you are looking for and adult adventure. Please seek Las Vegas. 🤗

Be careful who you trust and what you do

I know a guy who invited a girl to his room, and woke up the next morning with an empty wallet. Had to call home for some money to get back home.

Just be careful were you go. There is a lot of criminals that prey on visitors. Try to stick to daytime events and don't wander off into dark places.

It's not like they show it in the Oceans movies.

What I saw was immaculately clean establishments with lots of electric energy, FILLED with tourists and slovenly slot addicts.

On the street it's a buzzing mixture of Asians in Mickey Mouse hats, Hispanics that flick a stack of business cards for whores in your face, and a variety of out of towners.

Most of this is contained within a few blocks of street. Once you get off that strip, it's a sh1t hole filled with shopping carts and homeless people and the hotel security will warn you to not leave anything in your car.

I'd probably go back... I'd recommend some psychedelics for a more memorable experience.

Off the Strip, get a Pisco Sour at Herb's and Rye then hop over to Frankie's Tiki Lounge and have a Fink Bomb(just one, they are deadly but oh so very good).

Loads of great food on and off the Strip. Some of it is actually affordable, though the most expensive steak at Herb's and Rye, I believe, was $290(really, REALLY dark in there so I may have read that wrong). Rock'Noodles, on 3rd off Charleston is a great example. Their Asian wings are to die for.

Chinatown has great stuff and many are open 24 hours. Most bars kitchens are open 24 hours also. Check out the Bacon Bar on north Rancho - it's exactly what the name implies.

Downtown experience? Complete nuttiness, especially on First Friday(the first Friday of each month is a big party down there) with all the street performers and bands. Don't drive the Strip, use the back roads to get to where you want to go and walk/monorail/bus from there.

I recently found a old place where you can get your hunting kills cleaned up with a Roadkill restaurant next to it, old school Vegas stuff and I'm old School Vegas, yet I never knew about it. There are regular people here who go to church(yep, we have churches) and school(possibly not very good schools, but school nonetheless) and many mostly ordinary people just going about their lives. Mostly ordinary, I do stress. There is a certain amount of unreality in living here when you can walk into a convenience store with just a dollar or two and walk out with over a thousand. Gambling and the drinking 24/7/365 do make this weird, just don't gamble and don't drink too much, you'll be fine. Go see Penn and Teller, or the Beatles Cirque du Soleil show Love - recently revamped and something I will be seeing soon.

Or any number of things, like being a fool and getting dangled off the Stratosphere, only over a 1,000 feet in the air. Go hiking/camping at Mount Charleston, go swim in Lake Mead, go try and find the hidden cave west of town. Tule Springs, where I believe they have pulled up dinosaur remains. Red Rock loop in the west is great also with waterfalls and petroglyphs. See a actual Moai - did I spell that right? - at Sunset Park.

I've never been robbed here, at least not by a person(casinos, yes, but not on the streets). Never had a violent encounter more than getting pushed by some dude once on my porch so I punched him(don't try and push me around on my own porch, man). I've had boatloads of Twilight Zone episodes in this city(it was a town when I grew up here) and not all have been good or turned out well, but I have survived and still have no worry about traveling into any part of this city. I deliver pizzas and go to most of the "bad" areas of town and never ever had a problem.

It's not all rainbows and unicorns here, but it's most certainly not, exactly, what everyone tells you it is.
