Do you really think that climate change is new to this planet? Of course we contributed to the pollution of the atmosphere, but do you really think it matters that much? We are on a small planet, supposedly spinning on an axis, hurtling through space at 7000 miles an hour and traversing through many different levels of radiation. Magnetized poles that are supposed to flip every 3000 years or so, who knows how often. Volcano's everywhere, earthquakes with gases escaping from them, daily.

No, plenty of evidence to support that, however the pace of the change seems to be not consistent with the past. So far the biggest variable of such rapid change has been the rapid human population of Earth and its infrastructure to support it.

originally posted by: forthelove Do you really think that the climate has not changed millions of times in every orifice of this planet? Recorded history for most of us is only as long as we have been alive, which for the average person might be 75 years, so yeah the climate is changing and will continue to change regardless of human control, we have only geological references to look at for records of the past climate changes over the the last 4 billion years and according to most, humans have not been around that long, so, why do you think we can do anything to stop it or that we are at some fault for it happening?

My point in my previous comment. Climate has changed much more rapidly since we became and industrialized world.

originally posted by: forthelove Can it not just be a natural occurrence that cause this to happen regularly? Of course it can and most likely is something that happens very often in the Universe and billions of galaxies everywhere, because it is what it is.

Sure, but is seems coincidental that humans happen to populate the world at a ridiculous pace with all the destruction to nature it has caused within the last 100 years.
Keep it simple. Think about how a heater works. You add fuel or power and it heats up. Now think about vehicles. There is about 1.2billion active cars, trucks, trains and so forth operating in the world. Each of those average between 250F to 400F operating temperature. Were is all that heat going? That alone is one massive consistent heater that never existed in the past.
Then add in home heating and air conditioning ect.... Now throw in the coal plants, manufacturing plants and so on and so on. There is a massive amount of heat being dumped into the atmosphere that was not there before 100 years ago. Then you add in all the pollution that accumulates into the atmosphere that retains the heat.

Remember energy is heat. All the stuff that us humans do required energy, that energy turns into heat and it goes into the atmosphere. Every time we burn something to create power it creates heat that was not there in the past.

Also as one pointed out the methane issue. We seem to be accelerating the possibility of that disaster.

I probably did not organize this post well but I hope I got my point across.

With all that said we all have to die someday. The Earth will get eaten up by the Sun before it goes super nova. Just a matter of perspective what is worth it and what isn't.

The change in the ozone could just as easily be caused by other factors that we have no way of calibrating, for instance a change in the magnetic fluctuations from other celestial bodies in close proximity to Earth. Even dark matter which we know very little about could play a huge role.

Please prove your assertion that the "change in the ozone could just as easily be caused by other factors" - because wow.

In our lifetime. We are not privy to billions of years of empirical data that can be verified. All of it is supposition and conjecture mostly with some kind of agenda attached. I am merely making it a point to suggest emphatically that there is no way to pin all of the climate changes on current human consumption of energy. Energy has been around longer than humans and has caused many changes without us.

Fossil fuels that have lead to many advancements for humans. We have used what is at our disposal and still climate change will happen with or without us being involved.

Energy not being used is not heat, oil in the ground for example. Energy being used is heat, burning of said oil. If you want to deny Humans do not use more energy in the last 100years than ever before in history then good luck...

Sure climate will change with or without us.... Will is change as drastically? Probably not.

I'm intrigued by your rational. The US dollar is tied directly to the petroleum trade. It is in the interest of the 'oligarchy' to keep the oil trade alive and profitable.

Also I feel you are making a hastly generalization claim when you refer to 'scientists', or perhaps you do not know what a scientist actually is.

I didn't read your deleted posts. My guess is they were deleted because the contribution to thread drift, topic dilution, and possibly forum/thread sliding.

Seriously, what evidence do you have that counters the plethora of evidence that suggests we are changing this planet's climate?

Seriously? Are you going to suggest that celestial interference is NOT possible? Where is it you think we are? In some protective bubble of a condom protected from the STD's of space? Look up, look around we are surrounded by a multitude of randomness and choreographed celestial bodies from every direction as we fly through space, really? Okay, I suppose critical thinking is not a strong suit for many along with common sense.

I'm looking for proof, not conjecture or insults.

It's that 'Natural Cycle' whose physics, and observational evidence thereof, are gonna be coming real soon, as soon as they catch Bigfoot and unmask the reptilians in the government.

Stoner based physics: "we are surrounded by a multitude of randomness and choreographed celestial bodies from every direction as we fly through space" .

Okay, I suppose critical thinking is not a strong suit for many along with common sense.

Challenge accepted.

Science based physics: OK, then explain why is the ozone depletion happening now primarily in the Antarctic? Which celestial bodies exactly? What particular effect do you mean? What's the mechanism going from celestial body to ozone depletion? What is the lab result? What would be the observational consequences of that effect? What other consequences would there be? What is the observational record so far if we look there?
