Hard to say really. From where I'm standing, it looks like Capitalism has lead us directly to a concentration of power in a tiny elite (money = god = control).

It's not a coincidence that the events in the ME in the last few years have lead to the breakup of the EU.
They will need an enemy to keep it together.
