Frankly, I'm more afraid of people with your attitude than I am of people who are up-front racists or whatever they espouse with which I disagree.
Freedom is the basis of our society---freedom of speech is included. You have no right to be protected from speech with which you disagree but we all have the freedom to express ideas that are indeed disagreeable to others. Sorry you don't accept or understand that.
You are the one who might be surprised by how many people will be turned off by your advocacy of beating people and stabbing them for saying things with which you find disagreement. It's called assault and it's against the law in a civilized society. I, for one, want to live in a civilized society, a free society where if someone expresses views that don't agree with mine, I am free to walk away or to utter my own views. Might doesn't make right. Baseball bats and knives aren't part of civil discourse. Sorry your education failed you in this area. Obviously it has failed you if something someone wrote on a forum is getting you upset because they have the freedom to disagree with you.

I think there is a misunderstanding, the perpetrator is always to blame.

Acknowledging that the rhetoric compelled someone to act does not absolve the perpetrator.

A recent podcast episode of Common Sense With Dan Carlin is extremely poignant and shockingly prophetic in light of this OP. He discusses the escalating friction between citizens with differing viewpoints, specifically protesters at candidate rallies, and predicts the likelihood of more violence occurring in the future, and possible dissension into country-wide chaos. It's very convincing, which makes it pretty damn scary. Here's a video if you don't have a podcast app on your mobile:

I live near Sacramento and watched the videos of this event from the local news. "White Supremacist" group had a permit to protest, although nobody I know has heard of these idiots or care...there were only 20 or so I believe.
150+ "anti-hate, anti-racism, anti-fascist" protestors show up wearing all black and covering their faces. They throw rocks and pieces of cement at the white supremacists, beat them with clubs and 2x4s and stab several of them. They threw rocks at the capitol building and shattered windows elsewhere. They assaulted a police officer and assaulted a local news crew who tried to film the event and stole the reporters iphone and other items.
"Anti-fascist" protestors interviewed said the news crew and white supremacists deserved it, said they were proud of the violence "against hate" and said they are mobilizing a "military style response" across the state against fascism and racism.

So the anti-fascists deny free speech, assault police and deny the freedom of the press while committing acts of violence.....who were the real fascists here? LOL

Oh and not a single person was arrested...way to go Sac PD #fail

The white supremacists say only one of their guys was stabbed and they stabbed 6 on the other team, calling it a victory. Could they be lying?

As for your question about who are the real fascists, I'd say it isn't either of these two groups of pawns. Sac PD didn't fail, not in the greater scheme of things.

It is said that fascism is the merger of state and corporate power. I think that if you want to find the real fascists you have to look above 20 neo-nazis and 150+ "whatever they were".

You are conflating two separate issues.
Sure you are going to get a beatdown if you do that in a biker bar. But the bikers that do the beating are guilty of assault because people calling you bad names is no excuse for initiating an assault.

The problem is thats not what happened here. Lets stick with your Biker example. Lets say you dont like loud motorcycles, so you hold a rally at the capital to protest noise limits on motorcycle exhaust. You wave signs that say things like "Loud pipes are for morons" and "Bikers are drug dealers". Do you think its okay for Bikers to come to YOUR "bar" and assault you because they disagree with the protest you are having? What is expected and foreseeable is still illegal.
If a girl goes into a bar, gets drunk and tears her top off is it okay for the men to take advantage of her and have sex with her?
Legally its rape. Because she cannot consent to sex even though its entirely foreseeable that what she is doing is a bad idea and will lead to trouble.

While words may influence the behavior of people it is incumbent on the people to control themselves and NOT assault people just because they are offended. You dont have a right to do that.

I'm not seeing your example. It's confusing and not clear cut like mine.

If I insult someone and the attack me, I should have had an inkling that may have been an end result.

Right or wrong it may be, my words can and do illicit reactions. It is up to me to decide if the words I choose to use are worth the risks and accept that not everyone wants to hear them. It's not my place to tell others they aren't allowed to be upset.

If someone attacks me for my words, slogans, signs, or whatever they do indeed break the law and that's their problem to deal with. To act surprised by their attack? That's just ignorant and foolish.
