With respect, I don't think TPTB are as capable as you give them credit for. Otherwise, this whole Brexit thing wouldn't have happened.

As for the rest, i submit to you that none of the calculations re: how many people our planet can hold are terribly valid at this point, given that we are driving a good chunk of our biodiversity into extinction, to put up more houses and chain restaurants.

More than anything else -- our species needs a new "west.'

The sickness you see all around you is a natural consequence of running low on big dreams, and no -- making a billion dollars selling video games or credit default swaps isn't going to cut it.

The way I see it, we either get west, or we go extinct, along with every other species we are driving into the dirt.

I'm rooting for the former, personally.
