Can't these people be removed for obstruction?

Must be annoying to try and discuss & vote on legislation with these clowns sat in the middle of everything.

They are gone now.

Like you do with children when they throw tantrums, you largely ignore it, and they get bored with it and wander off.

Looks like they saw no one was watching and so they decided to go home catch up on Game of Thrones.

You mean these Representatives and Senators? That have as much right to be there as anyone else? PFfft.

There's no danger of the House voting on anything. That's not what the Republican Congress is about.

What utter BS!

Captured the news-cycle though, didn't it?

Did you see the supportive crowds outside?

I think the point was well-made ... and this isn't the last we'll hear about it.

Media attention, not much traction though.

Consider this scenario;

Americans Have Bought Over 100 Million Guns During Obama's Presidency

100 million is GREATER than PAID supporters.

Traction?

It's all the Left and Right Media have talked about for two days.

It overshadowed Mr. Trump's kow-towing to the Religious Right and his appointment of a Christian "Brain Trust" lol.

Mission Accomplished.

So that makes your constant complaints that American's can't buy guns, can't bear arms, can't can't can't ... just look like a lot of hot air, eh?

100 Million, wow. We must be therefore getting safer by the day, right? Isn't that the contention?

Guns make us safer? According to you guys on the Right again ... crime is worse than EVER.

Which is it?

ONLY after passing a background check and filling out ATF form 4473.

And only after having lived a PERFECT little life,

I might be granted the 'privilege' of practicing my RIGHT.

That's really 'hot air' isn't it.

And government makes us 'safer' right ?

That is when they are not running ASSAULT RIFLES to Mexican Drug cartels, and TERRORISTS over in the middle east.

If we lived over in the middle east or Mexico they would be GIVING them to us.

So yeah WHAT WAY IS IT ?

Our opinions on this matter obviously differ.

I guess we'll see how the situation develops.

I agree with you.

The Dem behavior speak volumes to the informed Americans and it also proves in my opinion they are following their master orders.

I read your thread.

A disarmed people is easier to control.

No matter how much lipstick the anti gunners put on that Pig.

It's still AUTHORITARIANISM.

So ... 100 million new guns in the hands of Americans.

Sounds like you're upset about some necessary paperwork, Neo.

Your right is to bear arms (*cough*in defense of your home and country*cough*).

The government can legally control (as has been pointed out numerous times) what you can buy, when you can buy it, et. al. and there are logical, reasonable standards for those restrictions that have been tried in US Courts.

Obviously, though ... 100 million new gun owners ... there's no real problem in the exercise of the 2nd Amendment.

Why are you complaining?

Did you know that according to official FBI and U.S. Department of Justice reports, the rates of violent crime in the U.S. are now at their lowest level in 40 years? Did you know that violent crime rates of 2010 were 1/3 the rates of 1994?

wanttoknow

Government statistics show that, except for some small blips, serious crime has decreased almost every year from 1994 through 2013. For over a decade Gallup has found that the majority of Americans polled believe crime is up, contrary to the fact that crime rates have plummeted in almost every small and large city since the 1990s.

The question is what are the DEMOCRATS complaining about ?

Over 100 million sold in the last few years.

A TOTAL over 300 million exist.

And yet not even .01 % is used in the commission of crimes.

Sit-in is already over. What happened to them vowing to stay until something was done?

Did anyone else notice how staged all this was? Professionally printed signs, posters, podium placers, ect with the hastags and slogans...

Media moving around and covering the end of the sit-in like a prepared broadcast with a script.

Disgusting.

and yet the republicans did the same thing in 2008 over expanded oil and gas drilling......using your word...disgusting.

This is 2016, try to keep up.

Republicans were not trying to remove your due process rights.

If you think what the Dems are trying to do to the 2nd amendment is good, maybe you should put it to the test on the other amendments. How about the 1st, the 4th, or the 8th? Maybe you should prove to the government that you have a right to post on ATS, because that is where this slippery slope leads.

BTW, there was a bill, 4 of them. Democrats voted all of them down. Thanks for playing.

I believe they'd like to see universal background checks for all firearms, not just the 60% or so that are traded through licensed gun dealers. I believe they'd also like to limit the number of potential terrorists who can purchase weapons in a week or so. As best I recall.

LOL ... what an interesting statistic.

Here's some more:

Americans are twice as likely to be murdered by a handgun than any other type of weapon.

Almost 70% of all homicides are committed with handguns.

About 70% to 80% of firearm homicides and 90% of nonfatal firearm victimizations were committed with a handgun from 1993 to 2011.

In 2007-11, less than 1% of victims in all nonfatal violent crimes reported using a firearm to defend themselves during the incident.

And yet these geniuses are trying to ban "assault rifles" when the stats you posted show the higher risk is with handguns. Is that what they call common sense legislation?

Which they already have.

BY LAW ATF form 4473 has to be filled out.

I particular LOVE 11b.

Are you under indictment or information in any court for a felony, or any other crime for which the judge could imprison you for more than a year?

WHAT more to those SNIPS want ?

It's a FELONY to lie.

They must be talking about Chicago one of the most STRICT gun control cities in the country.
