A whispering wind tore at my flesh,
A torrent of rain swept all my life away,
My tears lost with the drops of heavenly dew,
My love lost to the valley's of grey.
Once the Sun shined down upon me,
The sky was without cloud,
My heart and my cloth without stain,
Yet now my heart blackened with the loss of my love,
My cloth stained with the tears that I cried.
I took then to Sea,
That time that I lost her,
Sailed a ship or was it a bottle?
Beneath the Moon I ran,
I sought out the Stars,
She was one among them,
So bright and so far.
My ship sunk to the depths of the Sea,
But carried was I out to the beach,
Of a land unforeign to me,
To the sight of a new land,
Covered with new stars,
A new beauty presented to me.
Yet still a wind tears at me,
And torrents of rain forever disgrace me.
Still my heart dark,
My joy incomplete,
Without love there is nothing,
But a blissful sleep.
