Failed guesses from todays callers , Locking in a sandwich press, toaster crumb tray, sliding a GPS navigator into its saddle, hitching a trailer (for the 200th time), keyless deadbolt.

All wrong.

Try 2: got cut off twice, from 2 different mobiles, grrrr. Another trailer hitch, town clock tower, latches on a guitar case ( been said 10 times or so) , coke vending machine.

all a no go.

Have to wait till tomorrow now. 23hrs and counting

This is a tough one, here are my guesses:

1. vintage date stamp (the one with the rotating ink pad) or vintage passport stamp

2. old sewing machine

3. Same as y'alls guess, pinball loading.

Wow, is ATS under attack again? I went back to edit my post for grammar and it posted the original and the edits, lol.

Anyhow, was turnstile said on the radio? If not I still think it would be a good back up for the pinball guess. You can call in as much as you want, right? And yeah, that sound is very familiar, it's now driving me nuts.

The more guesses, the better I thought. Read the thread to make sure it was not mentioned yet (kick me if I failed, lol). I'm now going with the 'lock' theme (clues and sound) people keep mentioning.

How about a keycard lock? The sound is the part which unlocks the door.

Couldn't get through, its 7am here, the attempts just said are just said...... coffee pod machine, hole puncher, locking a door, putting the fuel nozzle back on the bowser.

got through guys, i said " is it the ball loading on a vintage pinball machine".... there was a pause, then he said " lets have another listen", he then played the sound and replied " very good guess, thats the closest, if i was going to give it on sound, that would be it, but it has nothing to do with it"
