Help uploading sound bite in m4a for thread

hey friends, i need some help, i have a sound bite in a M4a format on my computer that i wish to add to ATS for a thread. just cant figure out how to upload it for a thread. The file is currently in a music folder in OneDrive on my laptop.

HELP PLEASE

As far as I know you are only allowed to add pictures directly to ATS.

You would have to add it to a suitable website and then provide the link (URL) here on ATS.

Soundcloud is a very easy to use website for uploading and sharing audio

It might even embed on ATS, not sure though.

You could also just use youtube but I have no idea how that works

One I've used for here in the past was Clyp.

No sign up needed. However not sure if if it takes m4a audio clips. You might have to convert it first (try Freemake if you don't have an audio converter).

I think MM's suggestion is the right idea

Incidentally, I've sometimes thought it'd be good to be able to add a soundtrack to certain OPs. Stuff like ghost threads with an atmospheric track playing in the background to set the tone. History threads with the sounds of sirens and aircraft for WW2 etc.

Not so long after you and me joined ATS Chadwickus posted a UFO thread and embedded something that autoran. As soon as the thread opened, the soundtrack would play. It was an accident on his part and it's stayed in my mind as an idea to add flavour to an OP.

It's probably better that we can't add soundtracks because they'd potentially be intrusive and annoying.

If you really want the file to play in the thread you could convert it to mp3, add an image and post it to YouTube.

You can convert the file here, it literally takes no time at all: audio online converter
Then you need to add an image, you can do that here (you need a gmail account for youtube):
