To quote what I said in another thread. Oh thats nice! Now whenever Indiana Jones comes on public TV they'll have to blur out the Swastikas. Not to mention the swastika is important in many cultures and religions like Jainism. The Nazis just adopted it and perverted it!

Some needs to tell the people who are into advocating this idea, that swastika is a Hindu good luck sign and can be found in India as easy as you can find mosquitos over there.

Just because the Nazis used it doesn't mean that it belonged to them, nor does it corrupts the sign.

"Whilst I'm sure the banning of Nazi symbols would be regarded as entirely fair enough."

Judging from your spelling, I am assuming you're a Brit, and I can't very well respond as I would were you an American.

It was a deliberately anodyne comment, purely intended to balance the remainder of the argument against - by the recognition that for some people, this symbol has significant historical meaning.

Incidentally, and this may well be somewhat pedantic I grant you, but I don't recognise the term 'Brit[ish]' as applied to myself, I do however recognise and take the often misrepresented [as nationalistic], 'English' identity - (err, which becomes somewhat ironic in this post). ... but I take your point.

Is it *them*, or the right to a peaceful (and maybe that's the key word here) , democratic self-determination that's being protected - although maybe then it's a question of interpretation ... ?

Ironically, the very people here who actually want to ban these people or their symbols, are, as far as I'm concerned, their spiritual brethren.

... and that's exactly my point and what the initial comment was intended to balance the remainder of my [initial] post against, a point by the way, in which I entirely agree with you...

The original sun-worship symbol almost always ran clockwise
The Nazis - actually the Ordo Templar Orientalis originally- reversed it to anti-clockwise.
Like the upside down cross, reversal of an ancient symbol always denotes satanic - i.e. negative draining of the universal energy grid to personal advantage - intent
