He played a stupid game and then won the prize.

Some how my world remains unaffected.

Gotta love those who pretend to care, did you hold a memorial service for this guy, or just some txt on the internet?

He erased himself from the DNA of mankind, I couldn't have asked for more.

If someone is stupid enough to do that, they don't deserve sympathy.

Oh? I was going to say sociopath but,

As for the guilt side, some murderers and serial killers don't feel compassion, but can appear to through acting.

Hmm.

Looking at your posts in this thread makes me wonder why a person would go out of his way to turn someone's unfortunate death into some sort of gleeful blame game almost as if it gives you pleasure to know that this stupid divergent died.

How exalt did I go out of my way? I was here, I posted. It's not like I had to drive 100 miles to do it.

Now, how about you stay on topic of a person doing a moronic thing and paying the consequences?

You will experience at least a moment of humility.

Then you will remember this thread.

This man was simply stupid....period. I personally know one of the rangers at that park. I chatted with them today, and although they could not provide any details due to an ongoing investigation, they said the man was warned to return, and that warning was ignored. He was not mentally incapacitated in any way other than stupidity and arrogance. The sister went along "for the ride" and did not want to question him for fear of upsetting him.

I cannot elaborate any further without divulging the source. But I assure you, this ranger was involved, personally, throughout the entire ordeal. Now that ranger is also having to deal with the fact they could not prevent this level of stupidity there in front of them as they watched helplessly as the man was dissolved alive.

This was completely preventable by he, and he alone. He chose poorly.

Not possible. You won't have a choice.

None of us will.

It's not about intelligence, per say. It's about doing something stupid.

You wouldn't drink a bottle of bleach. You wouldn't put a knife into a plug socket. You wouldn't jump off the Empire State Building to check if gravity worked.

Warning labels, signs and barriers are there for reasons. Ignore them and you have to expect something to happen.

Maybe it's time we removed warning labels and barriers and let nature take its course?

But most people wouldn't go THAT far. Standing next to or over something dangerous is completely different to jumping from a building so high that there is only one outcome. I have laid on my stomach looking over a cliff edge to see the view out of curiosity. It was amazing yet if I fell or the edge collapsed, I would have been an idiot and deserved what happened, yet I took a calculated risk that paid off. Drinking a bottle of bleach is not.

Believe it or not, someone has survived a fall from the observation deck of the Empire State Building lol.

Yep. I agree. Also, I've done that myself.

Drinking a bottle of bleach is not.
Yet there are people that take the risk for a "buzz".
