I think it's disgusting. I'm only 14, nobody has ever said anything to me about treating the animals we eat fairly...still despite this, I know out of common sense that that is not the way we should treat any animal big or small.
If workers act like that then why not get new workers, nice people who want to work.

People make me sick and I'm tired of them!

I don't have a problem with eating chickens, but treating them in that way is disgusting.

The laws need to change, things continue to get worse as the world becomes a greedier place. There is no respect shown or mercy for animals because it costs extra money and corporations are trying to save every penny they have and money is evidently more important than respect and mercy for animals. If animals are to be used for food they should have earth friendly laws that protect them and at least put them out of their misery quickly and in a more respectful fashion. Same goes for the millions who die continually of starvation in the world and under the hardest circumstances. Governments could have saved everyone 10 X's plus and more if they wanted to by now but somewhere, someplace the powers that be want it that way and refuse to help not only humans but animals.

You have to ask yourself what can you do personally in your life to help make a better change for earth, the millions of humans suffering and trillions of animals? Things can change if everyone made a choice for themselves that is more compassionate for the world and surroundings. One choice at a time for yourself personally can make a better earth. We choose who we elect and we choose who we support through choice. I only hope that people are becoming more aware at how selfish many of us have become without even realizing it, please be aware of what is happening to less intelligent lifeforms because if you look at the universe or believe in God or something greater out there we are those less intelligent lifeforms the same as those below us in comparison to what is out there. Show mercy, compassion on love, share with your neighbors, help all you can in need and never set your heart on superficial dollars over people's lives. Sacrifices must be made in life and those selfless acts can bring happiness and life saving millions one choice at a time and it all starts with you.

I don't agree with a no meat lifestyle.
I also don't agree with the inhumane treatment of animals.
In nature, animals kill for food, and do it as quickly as possible and waste nothing.
So should be the same.
If we intend to raise animals, then they should be raised with the utmost respect, and killed the same way. Fast and painlessly.

This just does not exist especially in the beef industry.
Kobe And Kosher butchering is the worst by far.
I will spare the details.

Imagine, for a minute, that humans, upon becoming 30yrs old, were to become food for the rest of us.
Sounds ridiculous I know, but imagine it was socially and morally accepted.
If PETA has their way.
How would you want to live, and how would you want to die?

I digress.
All creatures deserve to live uncaged, livestock or not.

Not to mention,
Insects are much higher in protein and essential nutrients per ounce than any meat. Omega 3's, b12, iron, & other minerals.
We should farm them.
They are the perfect Livestock.
They are beneficial to agriculture, and can recycle vegetation and agricultural organic waste, as well as other materials saving a ton of money on feed as opposed to traditional livestock.
They can live in confined spaces, and still be their normal insecty selves, without pain and misery like mammals and birds.
Farming would actually reduce the threat of contaminants that could potentially be contained in insects because of environment.
Tradition livestock is the opposite of that. The more they are farmed in close proximity, the more they are prone to contamination.
There are many uses besides food as well, such as organic colorings, technology, agriculture, recycling, the list goes on.

And some of them taste pretty damn good when cooked.
Yes I have eaten Bugs.
Odds are, you have been eating them your whole life anyway.
Look into the acceptable amount of insect material allowable by the FDA. Surprise....
The only thing holding us back is the EEEWWWW!!! factor.

Oh yeah, If we stopped polluting the earth and our oceans, wild edibles and fish would be on the menu more often as well.

I was thinking, were all animals. Animals that we eat are just like us constructed, they have lungs, they have a liver, all the organs that we have, blod, reproductive organs and so on. In fact we are just animals, made out of flesh and we eat other flesh. We kill, yet we are considered civilised. We feel the same pain when something similar would happen to us but we make it okay to eat other things that move, walk , run.
The only reason we eat other living things is for out satisfaction, because it feels good, I can not see any other reason. It's not an obligation or a necesity to eat flesh, there are substitutes that can replace meat.
Meat will produce plejure, we eat meat because we like it and not because we need to.

I like meat, but after thinking for a while I think I'm going to become vegetarian. I came to the conclusion that:

A) Meat is not a necesity.
B I like plejure, but I can get plejure out of something else that does not include killing things.

We as a human race are primitive, we are nothing else than bugs compared to the universe, or if I'm going too far then to this planet.

We do not deserve anything, we as a species are greedy, we are intolerant to other living things, we simply do not care for anything else except for our selfs. Simply put we deserve extintion. The human race is not the damn owner of this planet, we did not create the planet and I have a feeling that the land lord is pissed off. One of this days maybe some one will treat us like we are treating other animals.

I heard there were two seperate slaughter operations at this facility. One where all the mistreatment happened, and one where the chickens were treated with dignity. The abused chickens were sold to KFC and the chickens who died with dignity were sold to everyone else. I can only imagine that KFC thinks abused chickens taste better. It is obvious from reading the article what we all must do to stop the cruelty is to stop buying KFC chicken and buy another brand.

How evil do you have to be to read the op and reply by saying "I don't care as long as I get my chicken"

How can you not be disgusted by such behaviour? There is a difference between a quick death, and extreme torture for no reason except sick amusement.

What is wrong with some humans?

I wish I didn't read this thread.

A good farmer gives his animals the best care he can, he loves them, plays with them, EVEN if he will eventually kill them in a quick way, he respects his animals, because they give him the respect and the living he needs.

If you do not care about such treatment of animals more innocent than even little children! then there is something wrong with you, and you are the definition of selfish.

You have to treat nature, the world with respect, it's all we got, it's the circle of life, do not break it.

The land lord would not have to do such a thing, humans already hurt each other, treat each other in such ways.

But you must remember there are plenty of good, beautiful people out there in this world, women and men, children, they are what makes life worth living, those people, they are the only hope we have as mankind, let's not group them with others.

Well you know what they say you are what you eat. Cloned animals are now accepted on supermarket shelves. I lost my taste for meat along time ago - My Motto is if it's got a face I don't eat it.

This is the result of our great american experiment. We have a new tribe, the american tribe, with no respect for the food we eat, no respect for their plant and animal brothers that share the world, no respect for nature, or the waters, or the mountains, even no respect for themselves or other people like them. They only look to these things for that these things can provide for them. They have lost the ability to see glory in anything that does not give them profit. They have lost the ability to kneel before the glory of the mountains, to give thanks for the bounty of the rains, and to share the beauty of a field of flowers with their fellow animals, without thinking what they can gain from that field, or those animals.
This is the new human tribe, and its nature is consumption and waste. It kills and destroys to no purpose. It makes no note of its debt to nature or the universe. It glories only in itsself. The new hymns are prayed with songs of dollar bills and avarice, and the currency is as often blood as not. They realize not that what you do you become, whether its to animals, or to each other, all you do is internalized and becomes a part of you. This is the law of karma and of nature....hopefully this will not become the original sin that you will pass on to your children.
