I was in the mood for some early morning doom, so I watched this on YouTube. It was a 2004 made for TV production theorizing what it might look like
if Yellowstone were to erupt. It's a kind of drama-mentary format with story spliced with false talking heads doing retrospective on their
experiences with those "fateful days.' Of course, you can tell it's 2004 because some of the science surrounding what we know about Yellowstone is
a bit dated as if the modeling tech they use.
I also think it's BBC because they had a few too many Brits in there (not that I mind that, but how many times do you find an American production
based in the US where every other role features a Brit or Irish or Scots accent).
But it did sort of hit the infotainment spot for a couple of hours.
I remember that movie!! to visually "see" yellowstone explode , erupt like that...not just brits in this movie someone noticed there were about 8
from the stargate series......
Doom Porn? I don't hear it discussed much but take a look at tv lately. All the sci-fi shows focus on doom porn, either coming soon, or already post
apocalyptic. One form or another. And how about all the cop shows and FBI shows. Half of them half of the time are preventing mass annihilation from
man made virus's or suitcase nukes. Even the hospital shows are doing it. Focusing on this rare and gonna come and getcha medical killer.
We are now being inundated with nightly fear on the boob tube. Not just fear but existential dread. And sooner or later somthing will reall hit the
fan and people will go, "I knew it, I knew it....
Mostly confine my watching to River Monsters, Deadliest Catch, some of the reality competition shows (Face Off and Project
Runway mainly), and lot of Mythbusters reruns.
There really hasn't been much else worth watching on TV for a long time.
