The camera was moving around so much during that part (when the object neared the tree) that the disappearance could be attributed to video interlacing (interlacing being the video compression system that borrows and re-uses parts of adjacent frames in order to keep the file size low).

Interlacing isn't perfect, and creates artifacts; the interlacing compression could have borrowed too much black sky from the previous and next frames, and put black sky pixels in the place where the object's pixels were -- making the object partially of completely disappear from some frames.

...and the object does look like it could be a blimp.

While everyone is dumping on this kid's acting, I praise him for it. It at least should give hoaxers an idea of how a normal person would reach in event of something such as this, rather than steady hands and silent recording with everyone around them being fairly casual.
