Not much at this time, a shooting at West Executive Avenue, steps away from the White House. This source seems to have the more information than the other 2: bnonews.com...

The complex is on lockdown. President Barack Obama is not currently at the residence, having departed for an afternoon golf excursion at Joint Base Andrews with three aides.

Isolated incident I would bet ~ probably another loony like the guy who was shooting at the Capitol building a few months back.

At least seven bullets hit the second floor. Neither the president nor First Lady Michelle Obama were home at the time, although their younger daughter, Sasha, and the first lady's mother, Marian Shields Robinson, were. No one was injured. It took four days for the Secret Service to realize that bullets had struck the White House. Michelle Obama learned of the shooting from an usher, then summoned Mark J. Sullivan, director of the Secret Service, to find out why the first family had not been informed.

Updates are saying it was at a checkpoint, he pulled the piece, secret service told him to drop it, he didn't, they shot him.

Subject is in critical condition at a hospital with GSW to abdomen.

This perp certainly sounds like a loose cannon. Gun shot wound to the abdomen, that's gotta hurt - next time maybe he will listen.

Shooting near white house? No big thing.

When I lived in DC, one of the worst crime ridden ghettoes in the country, the prostitutes and drug dealers weren’t more than a few blocks from the white house doing good business
