The idea of seeing a Vulcan, a B-1A, an RB-45, and an EC-135 at the same time feels like the best kind of sensory overload to me.

My wife told me after we left the AF Museum to make a list of museums I want to hit and we'll make sure to get at least one trip in to each.

Make sure you put the Evergreen Museum in McMinnville, OR on that list. Never knew it existed until today but it looks like a real cool place.

Great pics!
If anyone is within driving range of Gloucestershire and fancies spending a few hours looking at jets, Jet age museum
Is well worth a visit. It's free to get in, they just ask for donations of what you can afford.

That place is neat. Along with the Spruce Goose, they have a indoor water park next to the museum. There is a retired 747 tanker sitting on the roof with a water slide coming out of it. That 747 has an interesting connection to the CIA too.

The best part of the trip for me was getting to see where they restore the planes. They have a number of volunteer who come in and help put these planes back together. The museum itself is right next to a huge camp ground and state park. It was over 100 that day (as it always is when I want to go camping) so hitting an air conditioned museum just made sense.

I wanted to check out the Spruce Goose since we moved to Portland. Unfortunately, I hear the museum is facing foreclosure. With the entry prices they're asking ($25.00 adult & $23.00 children!), I'm not surprised. I'm not sure if we will be able to get down there before they close, though there is talk that the museum will go up for auction.

We have made it down to the Tillamook Air Museum. There is not much in actual aircraft but it's worth the $10 to see the hangar. It's a wooden hangar that covers 7 acres and is about 200ft tall. Almost makes you dizzy to stand in the middle of it.

I love the F-82 with what looks like a C-124 in the background. kinda dark but very cool avnerd stuff. did you get a pic of a b-45? I am assuming they would have one there.

A bunch of the stuff from the Cold War gallery had already been moved around to the new building. I'm so used to shooting outdoors that I forgot to reset the camera to an indoor setting to lighten the pictures up. Even with the flash some of them came out kinda dark.

Ah, I didn't mean for you to zero in on the "kinda dark" comment lol. you take great pics and chose some fine models to post up.

Oh, it didn't bother me so no worries. I was a lot more critical of some of them when I looked at them. I have a shot of the Compass Arrow that ended up so dark you can barely see it, which is too bad, because it's a neat shot of it.

If you ever are traveling down Interstate 80 through Nebraska, I recommend you stop by the Strategic Air Command Museum. I took by two boys last year and they had an absolute blast. Not to mention the SR-71 hanging from the ceiling as you walk into the building. When I was younger, everything was outside on an unused landing strip. Now, they built two massive buildings to house everything and left a Atlas Missile to greet you as you walk up to the building. Their website is Here:

That is a great Museum as well. Haven't been there for years though.

The Museum in San Diego is pretty decent as well.

Another batch since we're sitting in a hotel with a good internet connection.

This one went through Hickam at least once.

This was a sister to 355, out of Hickam, that we lost with seven crew on a rescue at sea.

And this one for sheer coolness. This was a life raft they'd carry mounted on B-29s for search and rescue missions, and could drop to survivors.

Beautiful photos you have taken.

This is an awesome museum, have been lucky enough to catch it twice. Have been fortunate in my travels been able to visit both parts of the National Air & Space Museum in DC, Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, and the Pima Air Museum. Am hoping to catch the Combat Air Museum in Topeka later this week.

Was able to catch the Combat Air Museum in Topeka, KS today. For a small $6.00 entry fee you can enter and tour through their two hangers. This museum is run by a non-profit and receives no federal or state tax dollars. They are all volunteers, have planes on loan from the feds, but own many of their own aircraft, which have actually been flown in.

Unlike most museums I have been in, you can walk up and touch, must duck to miss catching an aileron in the head.

This one is a must see for any aviation fan passing through Topeka, allow your self 2 - 3 hours.

Thank you for the recommendation, I hauled my wife's nephew up there yesterday. What a wonderful museum.
