Earthquake question?

Now I am sure everyone in here has read about how the earthquake caused the earth to spin differently and even tilt an inch on its axis. Here is my question.... Could this change in our planets condition void out all their programs that searched for incoming asteriods or meteors? I'm not sure if I worded that well. I just remember reading somewhere on here how NASA or some other organization searched the skies for any incoming objects that were a threat. Now that this shift has occured, all of those studies could be wrong.

What you are contending sounds plausible, but consider the fact that although the Earth's rotation and axis alignment may have changed, it's orbit of the Sun did not, necessarily, change. That means that Earth will still be in the same places at the same times, we'll just have a different part of the Earth facing whatever impact may be coming.

I could be wrong here, but most of the data they use to determine such events comes from the satellites orbiting the Earth. Earths actual position did not change so the satellites data would still be correct. One thing that might change, in the slightest, would be where the impact would be...but again i think that would only be marginal. correct me if im wrong
