Good Mice for a Fingertip Grip

I have long, thin fingers on a long, thin palm, so I have developed a natural fingertip grip. Anything else is uncomfortable. They don't make mice long enough for a serious palm grip and claw grips are just way too crabbed to be any kind of comfortable for any length of time (I cramp up fast and My fingers actually arch high enough that I hit the computer desk and lose room to move).

I have a basic Logitech because the narrow profile is comfortable, but it could use some help in the sensitivity department.

I like to barely twitch and send the cursor flying. I also like a light mouse.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have hands that can palm a basket ball and the mouse I use and actually like is Logitech Gaming Mouse G400, it is a bit longer and slightly wider than your average mouse. (Note: if you look on ebay you can still find the boarderlands 2 ones, but not mine, they are mine! LOL)

Have you ever thought about using a Wacom tablet and pen? They are suposed to be helpful for people with joint problems.

Have you tried the Logitech trackball with the ball in the middle of a longish unit?

I like the cordless one with the thumb ball.

While I'm at it . . . anyone else have this sort of problem with Win 10?

When I go from one window to another, the one I left--after X or XX seconds will appear again on top. GRRR. It arrests, stops whatever I was doing on the other window until I can minimize it again. A bother.

And, I have webshots.com screensaver/wallpaper and maybe 5-15% of the images are now enlarged such that the top 1/4 to 1/3 are off the top of the screen. I haven't been able to get webshots folks to respond. Sigh.

Any help would be most welcome.

Some of those look interesting.

And I think I considered the G400 when I was at MicroCenter. The thing with the mouse is that the wrong one is way, way wrong, so I'm afraid to commit to spending on one. But I do know what I want - less weight, more sensitivity, narrow grip for the fingers.

IIRC,

the long Logitech one with the ball in the center on the 'North' end is the thinnest one I know of.

notebook mice are smaller than normal ones, though i dont know if that would be good or bad for you.

the sensitiity thing youve mentioned a few times is down to the settings that you can alter (control panel > mouse > etc).

I have a Corsair Gaming Sabre RGB mouse that I was sent to review maybe a couple years ago, whenever Corsiar first launched their "Corsair Gaming" brand. I have large hands and have never had a comfortable mouse, and I was always having to claw-grip mice before this one. I have a little bit older version with a different logo, before they changed it to look like their more traditional Corsiar logo, but I believe this is otherwise the exact same mouse that I use:

Newegg.com

I still hold it in a slightly claw-like manner, but not nearly like any Logitec, Razer, or Gigabyte mouse that I have used before.

EDIT: I saw weight and sensitivity are also concerns of yours. I can't say this is a light mouse as it's heavier than most "normal" mice, but it's not terribly heavy either. It slides along easily and has fully customizable DPI options and buttons you can use to change them on the fly, 5 settings total which are all indicated by a unique color on the side so you can tell what setting you're using at a glance, if you need different sensitivities for different progams/games/etc.

i use Logitech g700, the sensitivity is customizable, comes with a small program that lets you modify its sensitivity to whatever you want it to be, its scale goes from 200 to 8000 DPI, and u can set the sensitivity anywhere you want in that range, the highest would be way to fast even for someone that likes "to barely twitch and send the cursor flying"

it can function with a cord, but that cord can also come unplugged from the mouse and it will function wirelessly using a single rechargeable AA that can be easily replaced, ive used it for 3 years now and only actually plugged it in maybe twice, only because i had run out of batteries at that time, usually i have plenty though as i just rotate recharging 4 energizer AA's that i bought like 5 years ago.

I had one of these years ago and although I have quite average sized hands it was one of the most comfortable pointing devices I have ever used.

It took a bit of getting used to but was far more comfortable and precise than a normal mouse and if I remember correctly had extra buttons that could be assigned different functions.

I might have to get another one if they still make them as I am getting old and creaky now.

I've got long fingers and honestly have had a heck of a time finding a good mouse. There's a bookshelf to my right where I store all of my PC parts and accessories and there are maybe 15-ish mice on it, from all price points and all put back into their original packaging after very short periods of use. None felt quite right. I kept hunting for something that felt right and worked well - only to always find myself returning back to my standby... A Gigabyte Force M7 Sapphire Blue.

Last week I came across a sale and took a chance on an unknown - the UTechSmart Uranus - for the price a Hell of a deal. Avago sensors, brushed aluminum base, programmable DPI up to 16,400, 13 programmable buttons.

When I ordered, I honestly expected to be disappointed. I'd never heard of the company before and the whole "Uranus" name made me feel like they might not have put much thought into marketing. But - meh... I end up tech supporting everyone I know and mice are handy to have around in that regard. So I risked it.

So far I am really, really happy with it. It fills my hand and the design allows all of my fingers to fall naturally into place. Incredibly comfortable - and it lives up to my mouse based snobbery and expectations in regard to performance. Once I fiddled with the DPI and lighting settings a few times it was perfect! The finger groove design looks a bit odd at first, but if you're right handed, the thing honestly fits like a glove. No discomfort or awkwardness to it at all.

I assume you've tried all the setting changes possible with Logitech devices.

I like the Logitech M570 trackball. I think I'm on my 2nd one . . . I have worn the other one out, IIRC. Or maybe some glitch developed in it. I don't recall, for sure.

I think Mice with the usual greater movement cause carpel tunnel syndrome more often and earlier than trackballs.

The Logitech trackball with the ball in the center can be used easily in either hand. But, I've used my right handed track ball a lot in my left hand with no problem--though it is designed for the ball to be moved with the right thumb. It's the best ergonomic fit I've ever tried.
