This herpes virus is only known to affect two forms of carp....The testing has been done on various animials and fish and creatures for a couple decades now i think...

I read about this virus a few months ago, and then about a week later read about the new strain of calici virus from Korea they are going to introduce. Both stories said the viruses were ready to introduce but we're waiting for approval. I have a conspiracy theory that they are waiting till just before the economic collapse to release both to eefect depopulation. A lot of old farmers will tell you that rabbits saved many a good man in the depression.

We have learned a lot since the cane toad fiasco and have had some very successful bio control releases. Cactoblastis for example.
