Matthew 6:22. "The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light;23 but if your eye is unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!

A mysterious passage. The plural use ofe eye and lamp means one thing is being discussed. One symbolic eye known as the third eye. The pineal gland which is or is a part of the reptilian brain (be as wise as serpents).

If that sounds to kundalini for you keep in mind that at 33 Jesus died and was ressurected before ascending to heaven. 33 is in kundalini the highest vertabrae and a point of enlightenment (don't quote me I only know that 33 is important in Kundalini) and there are 7 chakras like the 7 seals of Revelation. 33 is the highest degree in Scottish rite Masonry and 33 also relates to our DNA somehow I am not qualified to explain. Turns in a sequence or something like that. The kundalini serpent also looks like dna.

So Jesus talking about the third eye doesn't seem shocking to me. But did he leave instructions on how to make your eye healthy? He did, and it only involves a 3 step process after a purifation done through repentance and a desire for the light. Baptism. Water, Spirit and fire. Water purifies and the Holy Spirit descends on you filling you with a fire, burning with and for new Wisdom. Holy Wisdom.

And the last sentence ending in the exclamation "..., how great is the darkness in you!"

Could mean that the light of a healthy eye can make even darkness great. That is the light the world needs.

That is my interpretation but I am interested in others so please feel free. No interpretation will be treated as more or less valid and hopefully not made fun of.

Just a thought .We see with the eye but if we may not be looking at the light. we then might not comprehend it. .Also there is this issue with planks and splinters that can have a effect on how we might see things .But if we have the light of the Gospel in our hearts we have a inward guide that helps clean up the deep dark reaches of out heart and put us on the path towards that perfect light .just a thought ....peace

I pointed to his use of the singular eye so people would realize he isn't talking about our eyeballs but our inner eye.

The plank in your eye metaphor was from a parable about judging others so it is a different topic.

Light in this case is wisdom and righteousness which the Gospels teach in parables. This inner eye is the source of the ability to comprehend the hidden meanings of those parables.

But the Gospel is a source of light for sure.

I think if our 'bent' is towards self centeredness, ambition, material wealth, pride and arrogance, thats what our light is comprised of. It shines on those things, that is what fulfills us. These motivations are mostly concealed, hidden away, i.e., in the dark. That is the light of darkness, I think.

You don't think the light would take those worldly desires and use that passion for Spiritual pursuits? Once you get that burning for Spiritual Wisdom the material pursuits seem pointless. As long as your basic needs are met which is in God's hands as much as your's then the happiness comes with living in the Way.

Because he calls this darkness among light "great!" so I am thinking buried desires should be expunged by the light.

Sometimes, I reflect on the other two who shared in his suffering.Apparently they were criminals, and mocked him too, at first. One tried to test him, and the other reminded him of how they all found themselves in the same situation. He knew they were paying the price for their misdeeds, while on the other hand Jesus was innocent.Even in this tragic situation though, Jesus reassured him.

The story brings to mind how our eyes can deceive us, and I figure the criminals on each side may be symbolic of how the left and the right taken to extremes may both get someone into trouble.Jesus great sacrifice though, reminds me of the immense power of integrity. The power to make a difference not just in the in the now, but evermore.Going through hell to get to heaven...

I was describing the hidden light of darkness (lies) not the shining light of (truth).

There are two sources, the hidden, deceptive, manipulative light, and the open, caring, shining light.

Sorry I'm not describing it better. What motivates us to action? Seeing weakness to prey upon or weakness to render aid to? What lights our fancy, a pile of cash or giving something to those more needy than us?

We move through our day and things present themselves to us along the way. We respond to those things with our subjective light, either to exploit and take, or make way and assist.

I kind of got the just of your post .I do have only one eyeball though .Blind in one from childhood .So one is a ball that can see light and one is in the dark that produces light and one doesn't do much other then freak some people out . I think the peneial with it's ('___') connection is a little interesting . Not sure that it can give you wisdom but might play some kind of roll in it . The Doctors haven't seemed to have figured it out yet and never may .

That's unfortunate. The third eye concept is very old and probably older than knowledge of the tiny pineal gland but calling it the reptilian brain is what gets my attention. And the connection between DNA and 33 is amazing. The fact that it looks like 2 intertwining serpents.

Side note, almost all carbon is carbon 12 which has 6 protons,6 neutrons and 6 electrons.

Good point. The left hand path and the right hand path is a common mode of expression between good and evil. Left hand panthers is a term Satanists use to describe their lifestyle.

The single eye is within the light itself. If you pay attention to your field of vision you'll notice it's in the shape of an eye and it is full of light. That is the single eye or third eye, it's the combination of your two physical eyes into one spiritual eye.

If the Pineal Gland is associated with the reptilian mind why does Pope Frank carry around a Staff w/a PINE Cone and why is there an altar at The Vatican™ that One can pray to the PINE cone?

The PINEal gland gets calcified w/fluoride, that is why "They" put it in the water supply, to keep each Self away from their connection to Divinity.

It is also 'probably' why the instances of "past Life recollection" is stronger in children, their PINEal gland hasn't been calcified......yet.

You can also de-calcify the PINEal gland by doing 'Sungazing' either the first or last hour of Sunlight.

I have been thinking about this a lot lately. I was talking to some friends about the third eye and the great teachers teachings in Matthew chapter 6. My thoughts are indeed aligned with him speaking about the third eye. Regarding his mention of the light being darkness, I think this is in reference to those whom are able to perceive the infinite and eternal garden of mystery and instead of storing up treasures in heaven, as the previous verse states, they use this power for their own selfish gain, storing up treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, men steal etc.
He then goes on to discuss how no man can have two masters.
One cannot pierce the veil and use it for evil indefinitely, as that which is hidden is pure and holy and will not tolerate this abuse.

PS> the garden is beyond description.

I have heard all of this and I said reptilian brain because that is what science calls either the part of the brain that stores the pineal gland or the pineal gland itself, I'm not sure which.

Pope Francis having that type imagery would seem to indicate he has a thing for the third eye. I didn't know about that part or the altar but they must be thinking the same thing I am.

And the serpent has been a symbol of wisdom for 5000 years even Jesus describes wisdom with a serpent metaphor.

That's an interesting perspective. I see the third eye as that inner eye that sees things that aren't visual. The eye that senses the spiritual elements through which the Holy Spirit communicates Truth and guides us like the Advocate Jesus says he/she is.

"How great then is the darkness!"

This is the philosophers stone, the process of turning "lead" into "gold" or the process of transmutation making the worthless valuable.

But you need the light in you. Everyone who has darkness in them is at a different degree on the same spectrum as light.

Like Temperature encompasses hot and cold.

It is Hermetic to the core.
