Um...ain't much. I tried to find some words for you. All I could manage. You seem like a great person.
------------------------------------------------

A man I never knew was dying with a smile on his lip. A man so many loved, laid to rest he would not be forgotten. This man, though I did not know him, never could. His tale a tear to my eye, I hear he's dying.

A man I never knew, wasn't old, wasn't new. He wore a smile proudly and said that he's dying. I know, I miss him too. Though I never knew this man, a tear threatened my eye, I sought words for him, that dying man, he lived still and he smiled.

A man I never knew, he lives and there is hope for this world, for he still smiles.

Man, I never knew you though I saw your face passing through. Sir, I'd like to shake your hand and spend some time, talking all the while.

Sir, I have no words, what words for one who's dying. You still smile, a tear strikes my cheek.

Sir, if there be heaven then surely there you're headed. And if no heaven be up there, no god to welcome you, remember sir that we are here and remember you, and love you.

Sir, this day I make promise to you, to keep a part of my heart reserved for you, and have this memory of you. A kind man smiling, not old, not new.

Sir, could we have some coffee? Me and you? Talk some talk and sit 'neath the rays of Sun as the birds sing, the wind whispers, no, I'm not crying.

A man I never knew, a fate he should not have, but the fields are still green and this man...this man keeps smiling.

a reply to: Tiamat384 thanks, some one asked me if I had a bucket list and I haven't, I've had a great life traveled a lot. Found a photo of me and my brother in the 747 flight deck when we kids. My dad was cabin crew for BA so he would always get us a cockpit visit and business or first class seats. Been a lucky bugged all the way until the age of 27 when things turned nasty with the tumour. I've travelled the world, got a great family and extended family, a lot of love. So no need for a bucket list. I'm happy living with my parents and close enough for my friends to visit. It's obviously not great now, but I can't complain, when the average age of death for a soldier in Vietnam was 19. Then think of the wars prior to that. so no bucket list. I'm content with everything I have at this moment in time

Hard to read this. Be grateful for your blessings. You have a family that loves you. Don't wait for us in the afterlife, but we all will follow you soon because our lifetime on earth is very relative. Easy to say but I'm not going to explain.

You know. I'm happy to hear you feel fulfilled, that you are fulfilled. Not many people can say that, so I'm happy for you. I wish the circumstances were different, but there is always hope. From a poem,
"Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light."

Live, do not give up. I know these must be cliches and you've heard them. At least you have your family, your friends, your self fulfillment, your memories. Trying to find more to say. What about that coffee?

a reply to: Tiamat384 wow that was impressive and touching. I'm going to hold on to it. I will pass this thread onto my parents. They always wonder what I'm doing on the Internet. Maybe this thread will bring some comfort that I wasn't just wasting my time indulging in outrageous ideas and beliefs

I'm glad you liked it. I tried.
You should. Show them how many people care about you! Because I mean look, look how many care! Just keep smiling because a smile means everything.

Man, a tear is constantly threatening my eye, but I can't help but smile knowing(I hope correctly) that you are smiling and enjoying life now. I hope, please let it be true!!

Mate you're in good company, we're all loons.
All of us old members joined back when ATS was a conspiracy site... so we're all here for one crazy reason or another.

No shame in that.

Seeking answers to life's weird and wonderful questions and making heartfelt communication with other human beings... not a bad way to spend your time.

A lot of my favourite members joined between 2007-2009.

2008 was obviously a very good vintage and the peak of those two years

So sorry to hear this...:/
I have a niece with DIPG- a extremely deadly brain cancer type - She is only 4. and has 6 months left according to the doctors. As you might understand I have done ALOT of research og alternative treatments. Many of the methods I have found or treatments are for various types of brain tumors, so I dont really know anything about your specific diagnose. But I can tell you this: We are on the verge of a breakdown of cancer and tumor treatment through immunetherapy. Don´t give up! Cannabis is suppose to keep the tumor in check. It has shown remarkable results. And they are also working on sound wave therapy, micro catheters, ion treatment and lots of groundbreaking stuff! Hang in there buddy!

Hi woodward,

I remember reading your thread a few years back. You have made a great contribution here at ATS.

Like Tiamat, I too don't know what to say. So I found a poem by Henry Van Dyke that I like a'lot. And I would like to share it with you.

Hours fly, Flowers die:
New days, New ways, Pass by!
Love stays.

Time is too slow for those who wait, Too swift for those who fear,
Too long for those who Grieve, Too short for those who Rejoice,
But for those that love,
Time is not.

May you have Peace and love in your time.

Your post made me see once again how much in life a lot of us take for granted. We all assume - tomorrows another day. But the reality of it, tomorrow might not come.
I am going to take your words of look after your health to heart. I have a couple bad habits - smoking and video games on the weekends once i get back to town from work.

I truly hope and pray that you pull through this and become part of yet another miracle.

Woody,

I hope you still have a lot more sunrises and sunsets you can enjoy. And -- heck, whatever is beautiful for you. Whatever you love to see and sense, for as long as you can.

Darn. I'm sorry, mate. All my metaphors have fallen in a heap. I just don't know what else to say except that you're a great guy, we admire you, and you've helped so many of us in myriad little ways. You're one of the people here who has helped me try and follow my own dreams. I will always be grateful to you for that.

Mike

Woody here is poem for you.

Woody your life is so restless of time but the beautiful nature of time will help you further and further

Watching beautiful birds with feathers of gold you took a grip and have zoomed away.

Your day in the sun will come in time and erase this moment in time.

Life happens for reasons above like a dove you are fre to love

This time is your time to make a rhyme. I know you will live a long time. Your mind has funny ways of fixing things. I send you rings of hope and love from all. Take care!
