Desiring more freedom.

Freedom - the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint.

Do human beings, as a collective and in general, prefer freedom, or control - Whether it be over someone else, or someone over us?

The answer may be thought of as obvious, though I would disagree. It would seem the answer is not so cut and dry, and neither here, nor there. It seems freedom is more of a perception, more of an individuals thoughts and opinions shape their definition of freedom rather than any universal definition being agreed upon and sought after. This is unfortunate, as seeking out freedom as it is defined in the dictionary, at the very least, would drastically improve most all of our lives. If only we could let go of our egos, our judgments, our intolerance towards the way others live, and seek out circumstances in which we would all benefit from.

I have seen a lot of blame placed on the reasons we do not experience freedom in a greater form, and there are some I agree with, and some I do not. The way I answer this question of why we do not have more freedom, can be expressed by questions most of us are able to answer.
( For the record - I live in the USA, I assume these questions are just as important globally( or even in relation ) though)

Who controls/regulates/gathers the most money? ( Nearly our only way to support ourselves in a money-based society )
Who dictates how land is used - including codes, zoning, restrictions, etc?
Who dictates how such a precious resource as water is used? ( Bottling millions of gallons a year while in droughts )
Who creates laws - Which by the very definition is a hindrance?
Who signs or writes trade agreements?
Who regulates the market and business?
Why is healthcare so expensive in a free-market society? ( In which prices should be much lower and reflect the honest amount we would pay )
Why/Who is the reason education is messed up? - Who is in control of this "market" ?
Who runs the jail system we know to be corrupt and incarcerates far too many people including drug users?
Who caused or perpetuates the war on drugs, ignoring all ways to remedy this situation? ( Also suspected of profiting most from drugs )

This list could go on for quite a while, but I ask you these questions, and look forward to your answers and comments on the matter.

I don't care about controlling others.

Most of the arguments I get involved in are those that I consider self-defense. Others are free to be controlled, but they better not try to control me.

Trans.
Millionaires.
Billionaires.
CEO's.
POTUS.

While I happen to believe the answers to our ills are...

The Government. ( Congressman/Senators/Judges/Agencies..etc.)
The Bankers.
The Dynastic Bloodlines/Elites.

But very few ever mention the real culprits. Breeders.

It's funny because even people who openly despise freedom refuse to admit that it all starts right there. There's some kind of taboo. You can take away any right from anyone on the slightest whim but whatever you do, don't tell someone they aren't qualified to parent five kids with no job and no money.

Most humans seem to desire the freedom to control others.
