A king on horseback rode slowly into his castle. Outside the gates, he met a beggar dressed in rags, with no shoes on his feet and green moss had started to growing on hair. The king, being born a king, felt sorry for the beggar and threw seven gold coins into his bowl.

The beggar looked up and saw the mighty king on his white steed and said ;" Thank you ".

The king replied;" Buy yourself something warm to eat, a bed to sleep in and some new clothes to wear ".

The beggar responded in a way that made the king surprised ; " No, thank you " Took the seven golden coins out of the bowl on threw them on the ground and stood up, turned his bowl upside down and said ;" You spoiled my meal ".

Would work better changing beggar to ANYTHING else, poor man, homeless man, crippled man, but beggar implies he DOES spend his days sitting there BEGGING please oh pleeeeease give me money! So inferring his distaste for the common and the earthly comes as a surprise not of irony but of not making sense vis a vis the plot. But I know what you meant and I liked reading it a lot
