Life Sentence

I was given a life sentence
Of which I've served 10 years
A sentence filled with pain and grief
And holding back the tears

A sentence that was handed down
And out of my control
A sentence plagued with sadness
With no chance of parole

A sentence that's not served in jail
Or in a prison cell
But a sentence filled with much regret
Trapped in this living hell

See it's not what you are thinking
I've not committed crimes
I'm only cursed with missing you
Until the end of time
