No, this is religiously delusional Christian government at work, there is an important distinction to be made here.

The resolution has no punishing powers; it doesn't specifically ban pornography in the state.

It will do, these fanatics are never happy with inflicting their views on society in only limited ways, they'll use this "judgement" as all the motivation they need to criminalize it.

Just watch, I give it six months at the most before they're calling for an outright criminalization of all forms of pornography.

Book burning will be next.

The UK law was spearheaded by feminists and Christian fanatics. It was nothing more than a Conservative government caving to the loudest and most persistent ranting loons over the subject. Also, it's not criminal to own or view such content, it's criminal to produce or sell certain types of sexual activity in this country.

Iceland DIDN'T ban porn, Ogmundur Jonasson was considering a law to attempt to do that, but he failed. That was back in 2013.

The European Union dismissed the attempt to ban porn across the EU in 2015, stating that it was not a governments place to dictate what legal content a viewer should have access to.

Once again, this is nothing but a campaign by the Christian fanatics and a particular group of radical feminists attempting to impose their beliefs and opinions onto the rest of society. This is an attack on individual rights and freedoms, whether you are in the industry or enjoying the product.

Measures such as these should be rejected outright by any government.
