Interest groups and lobbyist looking for help from the President have contributed to his inauguration in some cases up to $250,000.

President Bush wants to lower barriers to building nuclear power plants, and the lobby that promotes nuclear energy could not be happier. To show its thanks, the group has given $100,000 to help pay for his inauguration.

www.msnbc.msn.com...

Looks like if you want something from the President, the easiest way to get his attention is to contribute to the inaguration and buy access.Who says big business and money don't run this country?

Unfortunately all politicians (or most all) act like this.
Clinton rented out the Lincoln Bedroom for $100,000
a night - accepted in 'donations' to his library or to
his inauguration or to the DNC, etc. etc. Sad, huh?

How in the crap... is this running the country ?

I have no problem with it... besides he isn't the first president to do it, as stated above...

Just the other day, people were upset that the inauguration was costing so much, etc.... well now, people are stepping up to help pay it.. and you're still not happy...

Why don't all you President Bush haters, find something constructive to do with all this energy you waste here bashing him ?

Elevatedome,I am not bashing Bush, in fact I voted for him!

What I don't like is the system of using what amounts to bribery to get what you want! The more money is involved the more political pull you have.

History shows that this has been the way of the world
at least since the beginning of written history. Ancient
Egypt tells of massive bribery. Ancient Rome the same.
The modern day U.N. is a cesspool of bribery being used
hand in hand with politics.

It's just the way of the world. Always has been.
Always will be. Sad but true.
