I like both animals, I'm a fan of birds too. In the case of cats and dogs though: Dogs are dependent on humans, they're much closer to a parent/child relationship. Dogs want to be around you, but they also need to be around you. Cats have the capability to be independent, if they're hanging around you it's because they genuinely like you. Dogs see humans as a higher life form while cats treat us much more equally. I don't know which is better, but I can appreciate both.
