My friends always ask me to dogsit for them when they go out of town. Thet are all amazed at how much the dogs love me when they get back. Theyre like you have some connection with dogs.

My secret...I sing to them and they love it. One boxer mix gets rambunctious and barks back like hes singing. Dogs also like it when you pit on music and dance all goofy while dropping their names into the lyrics.

One time I was dogsitting a husky and was belting out too late to apologize and the dog howeled right on que. It was like

Bass. "Its too late to apologize, cause its HOWEEEEeeeeEeeeEeeEEE!!!

And they he looks over at me all excited like "I did good right?!?"

Of course! My kitties love it when I sing to them. They know it's a communication just for them. I never use words though. Lots of "Leedle Dees" and "Mahna Mahna's"

a reply to: MystikMushroom I think my cat likes when I sing to him. He is not overly touchy feely, but likes the attention and knows my singing is a form of affection.
Sometimes the songs rhyme, sometimes not and sometimes the tune is to a song that is in my head from TV or radio.
The songs are always about how cute, sweet, precious and darling he is.
I feel better, I'm not alone in this activity people share with their pets, now that I've read this thread!
