Of the 1.6 million abortions performed in the U.S. each year, 91 percent are performed during the first trimester (12 or fewer weeks' gestation); 9 percent are performed in the second trimester (24 or fewer weeks' gestation); and only about 100 are performed in the third trimester (more than 24 weeks' gestation), approximately .01 percent of all abortions performed.

This comes after a baby that was being aborted for down syndrome survived the abortion attempt and was left for 22 minutes screaming in agony on the changing table before she died.
The lungs of children with Down syndrome do not develop as fully as in the general population Consequently, the growth of blood vessels throughout the lungs is limited. The narrowed arteries of the lungs hold potential for lasting consequences due to the increased pressure and flow of blood through the lungs. - See more at: www.ndss.org...
During week 16 to 24 of pregnancy, major changes take place in the developing lung. This is called the canilicular stage because the spaces where air exchange takes place after birth are canalized or opened up. Lung tissue continues to grow, adding millions of tiny new air sacs, called alveoli, to the growing lung. Alveoli resemble minute, hollow bubbles when completely formed. By 20 to 22 weeks of pregnancy, two special types of cells, called type I and type II cells, develop and line the alveoli. These cells form a very thin lining that allows oxygen and carbon dioxide to cross through it after birth. As each lung grows, arteries and veins branch and follow its growth, supplying blood to the new tissues. Tiny blood vessels called capillaries eventually grow around each air sac, bringing the developing baby's blood into close contact with the lining cells.
By the end of the 24th week, the tissue separating the baby's blood and the potential air space inside each alveolus is extremely thin and close to the nearby capillaries.

Another case of a 22-week baby born alive after a failed abortion took place in Poland almost exactly two years ago. In mid-February 2014, Polish media reported in shock and disbelief about a baby girl born in the Provincial Specialist Hospital (Wojewódzki Szpital Specjalistyczny) in Wrocław. In that case, the doctors were called and helped the baby. Unfortunately, she died within two weeks due to her forced premature birth and resulting problems. This child had Down syndrome.

At least 95 percent of children living in Russian orphanages and foster care have at least one living parent. The Russian government has made a public commitment to move away from the overuse of institutionalization of children, including children with disabilities. But government officials have not focused sufficient attention on the particular circumstances of institutionalized children with disabilities.
Within orphanages, Human Rights Watch documented the segregation of children whom staff deemed to have the most “severe” disabilities into so-called “lying-down” rooms, where they are confined to cribs and often tied to furniture with rags. Many of these children received little attention except for feeding and diaper changing. Many children in these settings are rarely if ever given the chance to leave their cribs, interact with other children, or go outside.

In Europe, Poland is the most pro-life country. They may further secure that title as they adopt even more rights to unborn babies by banning ALL abortions.
This comes after a baby that was being aborted for down syndrome survived the abortion attempt and was left for 22 minutes screaming in agony on the changing table before she died.
The recent legislation was ignited by the highly publicized incident two weeks ago whereby a baby was born alive after two botched abortion attempts and then left to die screaming unattended in the hospital.

The ban would mean that even babies that are a result of incest or rape would be entitled to life. The best part is that this is spearheaded by Polands 52 year old female Prime Minister Beata Szydło.
This may be a huge win for those of us who believe that the most innocent humans deserve the right to life.
