I am exactly the same way, and the older I get the more I dislike it. I can get along with and think like anyone from bad guys to cops, to people in
the corporate world to the homeless and it doesnt' matter how old they are either. Most everyone I've ever encountered say's the same thing "I've
never met anyone like you, or we think exactly the same way" and want to be best friends. I'm 25 now and I to feel like I do not have my own
identity. I used to think it was ADD (or ADHD), then I thought maybe stress, depression, way I was raised? - And I was medicated for all of them; but
it's just exactly as you say and theres nothing you can do about it. This also applies to other things for me as well, such as bowling, pool, any
sport or activity, anything. My scores and how I play depends on how the person that I'm with plays. I can be in an great mood, and with in seconds
of being around someone and not even saying a word, I'm in the same mode they are in. My wife is amazed at how good I read people, and how I can tell
the thought process, and what they are all about only after a look at them.
As I said, I don't like it but it works to my advantage everyday; and everyday I wish I could just be myself for once and not someone else.
I feel like a souless body.
