ATS: my take

First let me start off by saying, this post in no way shape or form is debunking ATS's members if anything a complement. I am also not trying to define ones ranking on the forum this is just how I see it. I will break the different type of ATS'rs into categories.

Category: 0 (the morons)
These people are the annoying people who come to the forum for a day only to post in the UFO section calling every one nuts. These people are usually banned right away and serve no purpose on the forum.

Category: 1 (The brains)
These are the people that make the most sense to me. They think logically and drawl well thought out answers with good resources. This would include documents released by the government, well established news sources, books by authors who make sense. The majority of the more radical people seem to out number these individuals.

Category: 2 (Average Joe)
This type of ATS'er is usually a lurker, and has an open mine to things. One who reads the forums and takes every thing with a grain of salt. They are usually not die hard believers in some of the stuff but only are here because they enjoy reading what the people here have to say. Category 2 makes up for a lot of the forum.

Category: 3 (The Fearful)
These people are the ones who have to little of an open mind. They tend to take what they read to seriously, just in my opinion. These people do however make a well thought out case and I certainly respect what they believe and what they have to say. These people seem as if they were enlightened by what they believe and that’s great, I just don't agree that they are right.

Category: 4 (The Debunkers)
These people are fun to see in action because there so good at what they do. If you post a picture they can usually tell if it was photoshoped or not. I think without these people the fearful would all be in bunkers right now with gas mask on, (please do not take offense to that) Please understand a debunker is not one who flames the whole theory all together. They are the ones who spend a lot of time researching and inspecting.

Category: 5 (The extremist)
Well this is hard for me to define. It would not be fair for me to name these people because personally I think they need to chill out and look around them once. All I can say about this group is, lay off the David Ike books for awhile and relax.

I personally like to put my self in with the average Joe because; I love to read this stuff. It’s very interesting some times it can be like reading a comic book others times it’s like watching the history channel. One thing is for sure this is an awesome site and if it were not for the people who make it interesting no matter what they believe it wouldn’t be the site it is.

Im just an average Joe, i only post if i think i have something useful to say, i very rarely start a thread mainly because most things have been covered already. Not sure im keen on being labeled as one or the other, but i just see myself as an average guy who can contribute from time to time.

Im Category: 2 (Average Joe) Mac you fall under..Category: 3(TheFearful) because of those choppers at your house lol

I have always defined an extremist as one who is so hopelessly chained to their beliefs that no other belief can be entertained in even the smallest of capacities. It is basicly intellectual atrophy. An excuse to not search any further for any sort of truth to existence.

i am a joe. I enjoy reading, lurking and throwing out the occaisional blurt. The reason i came to ats in the first place was my curiosity about ufos, and this place is loaded with info, theories ect.

Really? Same here, mine was more toward secrete military aircraft and some how I stumbled across this site and been here ever since.

Category: 6 (Original Cornish Pixy)
Average, but I'm not a lurker by any means. Reads what others say, researches and makes up own mind. Not opposed to changing opinion if more info comes to the fore.
Can be sarcastic when required and find many things funny, hence the constant photoshop pix and pixyish comments.

Ok...tell me, where do you see me...in which category? I actually see myself in a couple of them.....LOL Sorts bleeding from one into another...and maybe a bit of all of them....

I think I'm an Average Joe. I think alot of people start here but when they start having more confidence in what they are saying and believein they will branch off into other categories.
I'll proberley see myself in a few years as the guy that, when posts people will go Damn, not DT again whats he babbling on about this time!

Shame there isint a category for the outright nutters, I think thats about the only place I would fit into other than a straightjacket at times. Other than that smidgen of input on interesting categorization of the many faces of ATS.

I fit into everyone of those categories. As Do You.

You ARE an extremist dude, you used the whole piece to take a shot at people who read David Icke books, you are also a debunker.

We each choose who we want to be at the most convenient moment, we're all actors on the stage * (too many dudes) nothing more, nothing less.

without the peace of mind of free expression, we are doomed to minding what we say out loud, because we might get put on one of the silent black trains.

there's nothing nippier than a post by someone who doesn't fulfil their promise, you're good at what you do, but you let it slip.

and you spelt Icke wrong which probably means you've never even read him.
