Trump is playing to the most common issue that will get people riled up in politics - fear based on lies.

He's got people so wound up that they're willing to turn a blind eye to the fact that he has no basis in reality and has absolutely zero policy ideas on how to fix anything that he says he will.

The right wing media has wound up low information voters so much to the point where they just react to key words about key issues, and don't actually look at the issues for real.

As Goebbels used to say “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

And as they said in 1930's Germany, in order for this to work, the lie has to be really, really big. In Donald Trump's case, so long as the lie is maintained until he's President, he doesn't care. By the time people realize that he can't do anything at all, it will be too late.

In Trump's case, the lie of course is the illusion that he'll "Make America Great Again" by running America the same way he's run his businesses, most of which have been complete failures. I firmly believe that Trump's wealth is an illusion and that he's being financed on huge amounts of debt. Trump doesn't really build anything any more. Trump makes the bulk of his money licensing his name, not actually running companies or having "great products" as he claims.

On the campaign trail, he uses the line "I sold Trump airlines for a great price". In reality, the heavily bankrupt Trump Airlines was sold by its creditors for pennies on the dollar. Trump didn't sell it, he had nothing to do with the sale, creditors had forced him out of the picture by the time it was sold.

Many of Trump's other deals and ridiculous claims don't stand up to even the most basic scrutiny. But he doesn't care. So long as he can keep the lie going until he's the nominee, it won't matter.

Because most Republicans vote Republican no matter who the nominee is or what ridiculous things they say. In America, an election is all about name brand recognition, and I doubt there's an American anywhere in the country that hasn't heard of Donald Trump.

I understand you don't think Trump can do what he says he will do, as in fix America. obama said a whole lot of things that turned out to be lies and people voted for him twice. hillary has lied through her teeth about damn near everything but people say she is honest and trustworthy. As you said, republicans will vote republican no matter what. And democrats will vote democrat no matter what. (with relatively few exceptions on both sides) What is truth and what is lies depends a great deal on which direction you lean.

My point is that people are ticked off and career politicians and business as usual are the reasons why. Anyone who is not recognized as a politician is an attractive candidate right now. obama pretty much ensured that when he promised 'no more business as usual' and delivered nothing but the same old same old. "The most transparent administration ever", followed by 11th hour closed door meetings. "I will reach across the aisle", followed by, "Its my way or the highway". Nice cooperation there.

I dont honestly think Trump can do all the things he says he will do. And I dont think hillary will do anything she says she will do. I didnt believe obama when he said anything - period. I dont think sanders will do what he says he will do. I dont think biden even knows what he is saying in the first place. If we are to judge politicians by what they say we might as well blindfold ourselves and throws darts as a means of election. There has to be something more. Words are cheap and get thrown around at the drop of a hat when a politician thinks there is something to gain.

The old adage is still true - you can tell they are lying because their lips are moving.

Thank you to everyone.

I really thought I was the only one thinking this was a huge setup. After becoming so cynical & jaded sometimes ppl think they are slipping away from reality, and even if that is ultimately true, at least I'm not alone, so thanks for that.

I think that by the way it has all played out we may be giving "them" way too much credit, the "establishment" aren't as persuasive as they were years ago before people like us came here to placed like ATS and became "aware". sorry for the parenthesis. But I think we are giving them too much credit for being masterminds . They would really have to understand something they don't understand that is happening right no.

I think most people that vote Trump have a big F You in the back of our minds for people like Romney and "the establishment". We are watching history right now in play one way or another.

Now Trump is gonna magically get crap done HOW?

And have you guys read WHAT he has promised to do?

9/11, wall south of the border.

I'm still waiting for him to promise free porn.

I mean, how can you take these promises seriously?

Who buys this nonsense?

Well.. Trump has a better track record of accomplishments than 99% of the rest of society, which includes Congress, recent Presidents...and, ATS members.

I have a totally different perspective. I doubt it's a psy-op. You watch how quick theGOP elite change their tune this summer.

I don't think anyone is fooled by Hillary. I've even read ppl say if Trump is nominated, they'll vote for Hillary just so this country will burn down & reset.

Dead serious.

This country will survive a Hillary presidency, but I'm not sure that it'll survive a Trump presidency. Really!

How does the country survive 'debt free' tuition' ?

By the by that is the SAME thing as Sanders 'free' college.

This country can't stand any more socialist delusions.

No president gets everything they want. Remember the plan that Obama proposed for health care, single payer? He didn't get it. What makes you think a Democrat in the Oval Office this time will be able to make a difference, when it comes to free socialism type stuff.

But, every president has almost always been able to find funds for bombs, weapons and secret black ops to promote corporate interest, whether domestic or abroad. I think Trump is going to be all about corporate interest (Citizens United), and will represent the so called 1% abashedly, as president.

Yeah I recall reading in the middle of last year on www.henrymakow.com... the claim that Donald Trump was simply being used as false opposition to enable Hillary Clinton's election not unlike the 1992 US election. Then there's the TV show Madam Secretary, which I feel has been a subtle tool of predictive programming to socially condition viewers to accept a female American President for a while now. Of course, time will tell whether Hillary will be successful or not. I feel if Trump succeeds there's a risk he'll offend our allies and adversaries alike (e.g. Europe, UK, Israel, China, Russia, India, etc.) which won't bode well for our future. If Hillary succeeds into the White House I feel it'll be another sign of the death knell of our once Christian Republic. I do admit, however, my attraction to Trump is he's not politically correct; and he's honest and not afraid to speak his mind on "controversial" issues. I find this refreshing and a positive change since I feel debate on various issues has been stifled by political correctness for far too long due to the fear of causing offense to this or that group, when in truth, as Salman Rushdie, astutely observed: "Nobody has the right to not be offended!" In any event, heaven help us all if either get in! Come quickly Lord Jesus!

I think he's a setup for Hillary.

Trump = patriot, pro-capitalism pro-USA, pro-gun rights
Hillary = Globalist pro-Bilderberg, anti-gun rights

He's the straw-man Ron Paul. By "defeating" him they defeat everything he stood for. They are trying to project to us subconsciously globalism and global governance is good, tolerant, inclusive etc. Patriotism and libertarianism is bad, intolerant, racist, xenophobic, sexist, warmongering etc.

Like the poster above said the biased networks could have cut his TV time like they did Carson, or Rand/Ron Paul.
They really hated Ron Paul and his son and pulled a lot of dirty tricks to prevent him from getting time on TV.

Wasn't she supposed to win in 2008 then they double crossed her and Bill and fixed it for Obama instead?

Anonymous has never been anything but a psy-ops.

When they first reared their dumb heads and took money from Stratfor and gave it to charity -- only to have those charities have to give it all back -- I knew they were just another domestic, government-organized, 'terror' group intended to serve some hacking purpose for our corrupt intelligence agencies.

There are no modern Robin Hoods. And why would anyone risk prison to give money to charity that would certainly have to be returned?

But no one is ever caught? BS.

Dumb. Anonymous is a crock.

Much like the Weatherman who managed to bomb the Pentagon -- destroy intelligence -- and then go 'free as birds and guilty as heII.' That doesn't happen without the help of the federal government.

They would kill, imprison, setup, censor, disqualify you if they don't want you to be elected.

Still wondering how he gets a lot of time on TV and Ron Paul hardly got any.

I think we need to ask ourselves.

Would those in charge of the G O P have someone do as Trump is doing in order to raise enough turmoil so as to allow them to pick a candidate which the rest of the Republican party would not?

Or. could it be a part of a plan to bring in the "least" desirable Democrat by making it really easy for everyone to vote for them in the general election?

So did Stalin. Not exactly a good barometer

Just cause someone has "done stuff" doesn't make them a good candidate. Especially when they're method is heavy handed bullying and demagoguery
