So by now I am pretty sure a lot of members on here have watched the trailer for 10 Cloverfield Lane as well as the new Superbowl ad for the movie.

2016 Trailer:

So we are feeling a little on the edge by the acting of the trio and then there is this feeling of what kind of Monster are we going to witness here?!

But do you recall JJ Abrams teaser trailer for CF 2 back in 2011?

***SPOILER ALERT***

So on that note...there was probably something like an Easter Egg in the new trailer that points out what the monster could be related too in this YT breakdown of the "strange lights" scene above the house:

Looks as if there might be an alien invasion occurring, hence the bunker, hence the first movie trailer for CF2, hence the strange lights flying down from above the house:

So...knowing these easter eggs....

...are you still planning on seeing the movie? Looks pretty cool IMO...supposed to be a psychological (not horror) thriller

I think it looks like good fun!

The old man says it will be aliens and he is usually right...

Hey 10 Cloverfield lane looks pretty good, I'm actually looking forward to seeing it. However, I thought I'd point out that they trailer that you have linked for Cloverfield 2 is actually a teaser trailer for a canceled game called Prey 2.

10 Cloverfield Lane is not a sequel to cloverfield, it was an unrelated movie renamed 10 Cloverfield Lane, kind of super Mario bros 2 was another game that was reskinned to be released as super Mario 2 in the western world.

We know it is not a true sequel to CL1 because the big bad monster that destroyed the city is not in the newest one and none of the actors from first movie are returning...hence aliens!

Well pointed out. Thank you for the catch! Nice to see an avid gamer on ATS

That still doesn't explain the two mini lights falling from the sky. How will you explain that?

Because they are not using the "Camera mounted on a blade of grass in a hurricane" method of filming this one, I will be seeing it. Looks pretty awesome.

The original Cloverfield was...brutally, BRUTALLY BAD.

If you read the comments for the "Cloverfield II" trailer, you'll see somebody point out that it's actually a live action trailer for the video game Prey 2 (which was eventually canceled):

The story of Prey 2 was to focus on U.S. Marshal Killian Samuels, who starts the game on a passenger flight which suddenly crashes onto the Sphere (the crash is shown in the original Prey). At the end of a short battle with some aliens he is knocked unconscious, after which the plot jumps forward several years. Samuels is now a bounty hunter on the alien world Exodus. Though he is aware of his profession and has retained his skills, he has no memory of what happened in the time that passed since his abduction.[5] He initially believes himself to be the only human on Exodus until he runs into Domasi "Tommy" Tawodi (the protagonist of the original Prey), whom he has apparently met in the period he no longer remembers.[6] Killian then resumes his bounty hunter activities while recovering his memory.

Search YouTube for "Prey 2 trailer" and you'll see that it's correctly identified elsewhere.

You can read the entire movie plot on Wikipedia

It's unrelated to the cloverfeild movie.

I thought it was gunna be another zombie movie but I was wrong. I also spoiled the whole thing by reading the plot summary. It will be an ok movie but it's not related to the original cloverfeild and its gunna have a predictable twist ending.

I would have to be bored out of my mind to watch Cloverfield Lane.

Shame though cause I like the television shows Bad Robot makes. Their movies ?

Not so much.

I liked it but it wasn't great.

***spoilers***

The ending seemed tacked on too, if it had just been the thriller in the bunker and just called "The Bunker" it would have been a cool psychological thriller but they had to somehow link it to Cloverfield because of the name and it just got a little silly at the end.
Goodman was menacing throughout and I liked the tense atmosphere and the claustrophobia and the cinematography.

I mean I did enjoy it, it was entertaining but I doubt I'd watch again.

Absolutely agree!!!! I can't stand movies with that type of filming. I'm guessing they are far cheaper to make hence the popularity?

Also agree with Cloverfield being brutally bad, couldn’t finish it. With the bad filming which is extremely annoying to watch and the horrible depiction of the Aliens I give it a 0.

Hopefully this one they changed the Aliens from cloverfield type. WTF was wrong with the classical humanoid ,greys, etc looking aliens, heck even the one from the movie SIgns?

Or I'm I the only one that doesn't care for the new insect type aliens and prefer the more humanoid types?

I didn't want to read your spolier alert , but are the Aliens in "10 Cloverfield Lane" the same insect type as the ones in "cloverfield" , or did they make them a little more humanoid?
