I have had the pleasure of watching Scott Kelly undock from ISS live tonight! Wow, what an amazing accomplishment for him. Not the longest stay for a human in space, but still pretty impressive.
He will return to earth in about 3 hours and land in Khazakastan. I am sure there will be a debrief and acclamation period for him after living in zero gravity for so long.
They have monitored both him and his twin brother, Mark, (who remains on Earth) to see the affects of such a long period on the human body. When asked how it was, he replied he could go another year.
Caught a snapshot of the burners kicking in about 2 minutes after they undocked from ISS.

Here is to hoping this is a step towards manned missions to Mars.

I fell asleep 10 minutes before landing!
Glad to wake up and see he and the team made it safely.

What could be the side affects for this long duration in space here on earth?
