Just curious, those people that speak German in Texas are they related to Chihuahuas 'Menonitas' ?

A lot of them....yes. We have a large number of menonites in the area. They make the best sausage you can imagine.

But German's have a long history in the state.

There's a difference between learning a language and hating people of this nation because they are white or black or because they believe in some La Raza movement.

This isn't all of them but there's a lot.

Not in my part of the world. We have, in this part of the state, about 45/45 split white/hispanic (even though you can't always tell which is which, depending on lineage). And I have never in my life met anyone associated, or claiming association with anything akin to Aztlan or La Raza. That is a California thing. Around here, the illegals mostly just work and try to live quietly at home with a beer, and maybe some cable TV.

You may get an occasional moron, or the quite frequent mafioso. But that isn't nationalism....its stupidity and/or business (which US law helps provide for).

I grew up in central California and the majority of my town of 4500 where Hispanic, at least in summer. learning Spanish was natural, and opened many doors to a rich culture. They don't learn American because es no nessicita. you do yourself a great disservice when you take such an egocentric approach to the question of why. Perhaps learning more about other cultures that surround you; foods, languages, music, traditions, would give you a better perspective "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free" Emma Lazarus said. Me, I say, " viva la difference"

I guess everybody has their own experiences and observations. Mine are good. The Mexicans I know work hard, are polite, are funny -- when they are here I sometimes go outside to chat with them and we exchange language lessons.
We clown around. No problems. (Although I wish they wouldn't blow the leaves into the flower beds.)

We have tons of Mexican restaurants and all the waiters are very friendly and my fav has a 100% health rating on the wall. Don't see many of those anywhere.

I say ola muchacho's and they laugh. I guess they figure that's about all I know, and they are right.

I couldn't agree more, thank you tenth.

I am Mexican, my grandparents on my mom's side came across via boat, very dangerous. But they risked their lives with hopes to give better opportunities to their children. Some of their siblings where born here, some went to college and all learned English. All of my cousins went to some college or graduated college. Many are successful in business and some are paramedics/firefighters.
My grandfather (dad's side )is a migrant from Japan who found work here. Yes many come for better lives and opportunities, some to send money to there families, and some are drug dealers.
I don't believe the OP is racist. But my question to the OP is, what would you do if your country was filled with poverty and overrun by drug dealers? What if you had children and couldn't find work?
Isn't America made up entirely of immigrants?
(Unless you're native American?)

You know, there are Mexicans who have lived and worked here for 25 years or longer. Bought houses, worked at all kinds of jobs, saved money, raised children, paid taxes. We have many Guatemalans also.

And somebody like Donald Trump wants to tell them to get out. Unreal. After that period of time it's as much their home as it ours. You don't ask somebody like that to leave their home.

It irks me.

The United States of America, after 230 successful years is being methodically dismantled by men creating a New World Order.
The Middle Class of America must be brought down to the level of the poor classes around the world to make it possible.
they diminish our Middle Class by overwhelming America with Mexico's poorest, most dependent, most illiterate and least able to stand for their rights
Americans watch this New World Order spread, but won't step outside their doors to vote to throw out the politicians pushing it onto this country.
Millions and millions. A tidal wave of voices. All of which use sound bites as their opinion
This is all talk and no results. they can control the masses this way.
Example....
A debate that will rage on forever with hardly any change happening.
If you'll review the list of 62 senators that voted for Senate Bill 2611 (AMNESTY) - the one that floods us with 100 million more people we have plenty of help in destroying the United States of America

Thought he was only targeting illegal and undocumented immigrants.

I also know many who have lived here in the U.S. for many decades and done their best to live legally. It would be terrible to just boot them out after a lifetime of hard work and commitment to this country.

What if they are too old to work or are alone? And the U.S. is the only place they can conceivably go on in safety?

the Richest man in the world How does he get there ?
He needs millions of consumers to spend their money on his products Population growth creates wealth for a few at the top - and more and more poverty for the unfortunates at the bottom.
Today, we add millions from countries like Mexico and the Middle East with incoming immigrants that don't like us. Why? Because the capitalistic engine requires unending growth, production of goods, endless markets and massive consumption........ Profits , corporations led by money-men

I know. I don't presume to speak for the people in the border states. Maybe border states get most of the riff-raff drug dealers.

I think the ones that get to my state are not criminals. They are just looking for work. If they don't find it, they move further east, but many do find work, and make their home here.

I have an uncle in L.A., and he thinks it's a problem. So. Gangs, he says.
